Drake Under Fire For Controversial Instagram Post Supporting Tory Lanez

Superstar rapper Drake is no stranger to controversy.

Take, for instance, the 37-year-old’s recent feud with fellow star Halle Barre.

But oftentimes the controversy is of his own making, which was the case again over the weekend as he caught heat for an Instagram post supporting fellow rapper and friend Tory Lanez.

Lanez, who like Drake is from Ontario, Canada, is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence after he was found guilty of shooting superstar rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

Lanez was transferred to a federal prison days after he lost a bid to be freed on appeal while he seeks to overturn his conviction.

Drake has repeatedly taken shots, no pun intended, at Megan since the incident. Even despite the two being friendly prior.

On his 2023 hit song “Circo Loco”, he appeared to call her out directly.

“This b—- lie ’bout getting shots, but she still a stallion,” a line in the song says.

Though to this point, the beef seems one-sided. Megan has rarely commented on Drake and appears to be comfortable taking the high road.

Which is part of why fans are slamming the superstar Canadian for his continuous fixation on Megan Thee Stallion, and calling him out for supporting the man who shot her.

“Real corny how hatred of women can really transcend everything out here,” one fan tweeted.

Drake really a lame no amount of good music or money could change that he just a lame with bread,” said another.

Others commented on the absurdity of Drake’s request.

“It’s interesting to see people saying “Free” a person who shot someone that wasn’t armed 🤔 like do y’all know something I don’t???,” one fan tweeted.

Drake did receive some backing from his fans. But most were just wondering what he was thinking.
