Jahki Howard and Ja’Heim Hudson did not travel with Auburn for its college basketball game at Houston on Saturday. They were forced to stay home after a mysterious fight on the plane.
Although we do not have a complete understanding of the altercation, the Tigers’ first-year forward showed a horrible attitude prior to the incident that does not reflect well on his involvement.
Howard was considered a four-star recruit in the Class of 2024. He ranked as the No. 20 player at his position and a top-100 player overall. Unfortunately, the start of his college career is off to a rough start.
Auburn won its season-opener at home against Vermont on Wednesday night. Howard scored seven points on 3-of-5 shooting with four rebounds, one block and one steal in 20 minutes.
It was a very good (not necessarily great) debut for the highly-touted freshman. However, he was visibly frustrated with his lack of role as a scorer when senior guard Miles Kelly caught fire during the second half and drained five-straight three-pointers. Howard (No. 3) looked rather displeased the entire time.
FIVE. STRAIGHT. THREES.

Two days later, the Tigers’ team plane was grounded because of an on-board altercation. Multiple players were involved in some kind of fight.
There are a lot of conflicting reports about the severity of the incident but an audio recording of the pilot’s conversation with the tower paints a pretty good picture of what happened. We also know who was involved. Howard and Hudson went at each other.
Sources: Auburn freshman F Jahki Howard and senior F Ja'Heim Hudson will not travel to Houston for Saturday night's game after an altercation between the players during travel on Friday.

This is not a good look for the Tigers or head coach Bruce Pearl. It looks even worse for Jahki Howard.
Just two days after he showed a horrible attitude toward his teammate’s success, he fought one of his teammates on the plane and was ultimately left at home. Auburn got on a different flight to Texas on late Friday night. Howard and Hudson did not join the rest of their team.
