Bryce Underwood ended his high school football career with a loss in the state playoff quarterfinals on Friday night. The five-star quarterback recruit can now shift his full focus to his recruiting decision between LSU and Michigan.

However, it appeared as though he made it very clear where he is going to play college football during the loss at Novi Detroit Catholic Central.

Underwood is the top-ranked prospect in the recruiting Class of 2025. He will not turn 18 until August but he must soon make an official declaration on his future. The Early Signing Period will begin in approximately 30 days. National Signing Day is scheduled for the fifth of February.

Although Underwood could choose to keep his recruitment open through the holidays, it seems like he is pretty locked in on the Bayou Bengals. LSU received his commitment back in January, but Sherrone Moore and the in-state Wolverines are trying to get him to flip.

They are prepared to offer more than $2.5 million per year over four years if Underwood decides to stay home and play just 30 minutes up the road from where he grew up. The Champions Circle collective prepared a monster NIL deal worth at least $10 million. That is a record amount of money.

Meanwhile, former Michigan staffer Connor Stalions (the sign-stealer) recently joined Underwood’s coaching staff at Belleville for the playoffs. It is safe to assume that the former had a few conversations with the latter about his college decision.

However, Stalions’ lone game as the play-caller did not go as hoped. The Tigers lost 35-21. Underwood was under a heavy rush all night.

He completed only 11 of 23 pass attempts for 188 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

Struggles aside, Underwood still made a few pretty special throws during the loss.

The five-star signal-caller also ran the ball 11 times for 31 yards and two touchdowns.

It appeared as though Underwood made a statement about his recruitment after his first rushing touchdown. The LSU commit threw up the ‘L’ in front of his face.

This is not the first time in the last three days that Underwood has seemingly reaffirmed his commitment to the Tigers. He taunted the Wolverines over their $10 million offer and later trolled Michigan with a cryptic post that seemingly hinted at his decision to reject the money.

Moore and his staff in Ann Arbor believe they still have a chance. They have yet to receive an official rejection. Bryce Underwood could change his mind in the coming days/weeks/months.

Regardless of where he ends up, Underwood finished his his high school career as the state of Michigan’s all-time passing touchdown leader and total touchdown leader. He also won two state championships and was named as a MaxPreps’ and Gatorade’s Player Of The Year. Pretty good!
