Colorado football coach Deion Sanders called out a popular recruiting service in his most recent press conference. The Buffaloes‘ leader shaded On3 Sports while speaking to a former employee.

Phillip Dukes previously worked for the site, providing his following with podcasts related to high-level recruits soon making the jump to college football. Earlier this year, the two sides split.

On3 chose not to renew his contract for 2025, which led to questions about the breakup. Dukes later partnered with Well Off Media, run by Deion Sanders’ son, Bucky.

Coach Prime was heard asking about Dukes’s short-lived free agency on social media. “What’s really going on? My man Phillip Dukes is a free agent I just heard… Networks and media outlets, please check him out. On3, what’s really going on?”

It prompted a reply from On3’s Shannon Terry. “Coach Sanders, with all due respect, as my mother and father told me growing up, ‘mind your own plate,'” he wrote on X. “Dukes and I had a great conversation this morning about what was best for On3 and his career. We are good and have a plan.”

That response didn’t sit well with Deion Sanders Jr., who quickly hit back with an online threat. “Just watch your tone,” Bucky rebutted to what he viewed as disrespect.

Phillip Dukes is now covering the Buffs on his CU FLEX podcast. He attended Deion Sanders’ most recent press conference and got an immediate shout out.

On3, how you like him now?” Coach Prime said before fielding a question from Dukes. “I’m going to say it… That’s the pettiness in me.”

Deion Sanders has taken shots at the media before, most notably CBS, who he believes wronged him in a previous partnership. Interestingly enough, Dukes had a breakdown of that situation as rumors swirled about the head coach’s unhappiness with the network.

His coverage of the Buffs will now grow thanks to his Well Off Media affiliation. He’ll look to continue promoting Colorado as they push towards a potential College Football Playoff appearance.
