Urban Meyer has seemingly been enjoying his Thanksgiving holiday, as the 60-year-old former Utah, Florida, and Ohio State head coach was spotted at a bar inside of grocery store in Upper Arlington, Ohio, on Black Friday. Meyer’s former employers, the Ohio State University football team, has its biggest game of the year this weekend as they’re taking on the University of Michigan, their rivals.
In a post that’s gone viral on social media, Urban Meyer — who coached at Ohio State from 2012 to 2018 (winning a national title in 2014) — was spotted at the Kingsdale Giant Eagle grocery store in Upper Arlington, Ohio, which is about a 12 minute drive from the Ohio Stadium. The post was shared on X, formerly Twitter, on the night of November 29, the day before OSU vs. UMich.
While it’s unclear based on the photo whether or not Meyer was drinking alcohol, he was still sitting at the bar in the grocery store, and there are only so many things one can be doing in that situation.

“Drinking alone at the grocery store is next level,” said one reaction to the viral photo of Meyer.
“For someone who isn’t divorced, Urban Meyer’s divorced guy energy is off the charts,” another CFB fan joked.
“There is a grocery store by my house in suburban Columbus that has a bar right when you walk in across from the Starbucks. I often wonder ‘What degenerate posts up at the bar at the grocery store?’ I have my answer. It’s Urban Meyer,” added another social media user.
Meyer going viral for being at a bar is certainly nothing new for the NCAA title-winning head coach as one of the most infamous moments during his ill-fated season as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021 was when he was spotted grinding on a random woman at a Columbus, Ohio establishment.
Meyer last had a coaching job in 2021 with the Jaguars. Since then he’s served as an analyst on Fox Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff pregame show alongside Rob Stone, Mark Ingram, Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn, and Charles Woodson.
