Speculation on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s NBA future has been a major talking point ever since the Bucks‘ season ended in the NBA Playoffs. Has he played his final game for Milwaukee?
It’s been reported that he’s open to moving on after spending 12 years with the organization. The forward teased some potential landing spots while interacting with his fans on social media this weekend.
Antetokounmpo has been nothing short of incredible with the Bucks over the last decade. He’s won two MVPs, a Defensive Player of the Year award, and an NBA title.
That championship was just the franchise’s second, with the first coming exactly 50 years prior. They’ve been able to reach the postseason every season since but have been eliminated from title contention in the first round each of the last three campaigns.
The inability to replicate championship success has many believing Giannis Antetokounmpo is weighing his options.
“Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has not made any firm decisions, but for the first time in his career, he is open-minded about whether his best fit is remaining in Milwaukee – or playing elsewhere, league sources told ESPN.”

Should he choose to leave, he’ll have plenty of interested suitors. Initial reports said he’d lean towards a team in Texas as it would prevent him from having to pay state income tax. The San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets were each tabbed as teams to watch.
He’s only added to the rumor mill this week. The 6-foot-11 star teased a few of his favorite places to play while responding to fans online.
Is Giannis Antetokounmpo headed to Florida or New York?

The forward was asked about his favorite US cities to play in outside of Milwaukee. He listed two interesting answers in a Q&A with followers.
One included Florida, a state that boasts two NBA teams in the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat. It’s a destination, much like Texas, that would also keep him from paying income tax.
His second response was New York. He called the Big Apple his favorite road city in the league.

New York also owns two pro teams in the Nets and Knicks. Media members and fans of each potential suitor quickly reacted to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s replies in the comments section.

Will Giannis Antetokounmpo find a new home next year? Will it be one of these four teams? Time will tell!
Speculation surrounding a potential move is at a high. He’s only adding to the drama this offseason.
