USC beat Michigan in Big Ten football action over the weekend, 31-13. One Notre Dame fan was on hand in Los Angeles to take in the victory.
He proceeded to troll both Trojan and Wolverine players after the game. In the process, he proved the NCAA right in its decision to crack down on field storming in college football.
USC saw a fantastic turnout in the Coliseum with more than 75,000 fans coming to watch the home team take on a Top 15 opponent. The Trojans wouldn’t disappoint!

Southern Cal struck first on a 15-yard King Miller touchdown run. After the Wolverines tied the game at 7-7, USC went on a 24-6 run to pull away.
Following the win, a few fans left their seats to rush onto the field.
Not everyone in attendance was a USC football fan.
One Notre Dame supporter was in the stands to watch two of the program’s biggest rivals. He’s now gone viral for his postgame actions.

The fan filmed himself entering the field of play, approaching both USC and Michigan players, and attempting to goad them into a reaction.
It didn’t work, but it showed why the NCAA has pushed to shut field storming down.
Fans are discouraged from rushing the field.
Incidents between fans and players are the reason. Emotions are high in the scenarios, particularly for those on the losing end. The last thing players want to see after a setback is an opposing fan in their face adding salt to the wound.
USC’s Caleb Williams dealt with this firsthand in a loss to Notre Dame when a football viewer got in his face for a selfie. He handled it with class, though others in his situation might’ve responded differently.
As a result of these interactions, the NCAA and its conferences have chosen to penalize field storming. Fines are handed out for most every occurrence. Rules to delay field access have been put in place to eliminate player-fan confrontations.
Those protocols failed in Los Angeles over the weekend. Luckily, emotions were held in check.
