The Clemson football team took down ACC rival Louisville on the road on Friday to pick up a big league win. The team received bad news, however, following a celebration gone wrong.
Offensive lineman Brayden Jacobs was injured immediate after the Tigers sealed the win. ESPN indirectly captured that moment on the live broadcast.
The win was certainly worth celebrating. Clemson entered as a road underdog with a chance to not only knock off a playoff hopeful but also get a step closer to bowl eligibility.
It succeeded in doing both. A fourth-quarter touchdown gave the Tigers a 20-19 lead. The Cardinals would miss a go-ahead field goal attempt on their final possession.
From there, Clemson set up in victory formation.

As the Tigers ran the final moments from the clock, the offensive lineman began to enjoy the moment. He jumped up from his tackle position but landed awkwardly while exiting the field.
In the video broadcast, you can just make out what transpired. Jacobs’ initial leap was captured in the clip before his tumble was later caught as cameras panned to head coach Dabo Swinney.
Swinney confirmed after the game that Jacobs will miss the remainder of the season, though he is set to return at 100% in the spring.
The Clemson football freshman is a massive human being.
The son of former NFL running back Brandon Jacobs, Brayden stands 6-7 and weighs 355 pounds. He makes his father look tiny.
Jacobs was a blue-chip recruit in the Tigers’ most recent class. He’s proven his four-star rating correct with his play on the field.
The lineman entered the starting lineup in mid-October. He’s shined at tackle (and fullback!).

Luckily, the injury does not seem it will have a major impact on his future. Unfortunately, he will miss the Tigers’ last two games, as well as a likely bowl appearance.
