Things We Want: Poncho Shirts, The Genesis GV60 Magma, And Cary Grant’s $12 Million Palm Springs Estate

Welcome back to BroBible’s Things We Want. I’m Brandon Wenerd, the publisher of BroBible.com.

I’m starting Things We Want this week with a recap of my last Friday… And what a Friday at the Riviera it was. The Genesis Invitational continues to prove it’s hands-down one of the best-run tournaments in golf. The LA weather was absolute perfection, and our perch in the cabanas offered some world-class views of the Pacific. Between the golf, the weather, and the hospitality, the folks at Genesis really know how to throw a party.

Ran into a total BroBible legend, Jimmy Tatro, who was out there promoting his new movie with Will Ferrell, You’re Cordially Invited. After tossing back a few of those legendary Riviera Transfusions—seriously, we need to pause and pay homage to the ultimate golf cocktail, because dang were they good—we headed over to an afterparty hosted by the Country Club Adjacent crew and Fre pouches, the makers of a 15mg pouch (lol). It was super cool to meet Jake and Griff; they’ve built a tremendously fun and funny creator business. A Taylor Swift and an Austin Powers impersonator showed up, and my buddy and I hit the driving sims. Classic. I walked away with a serious haul of their watermelon pouches, which are easily the best nic flavor they’ve ever put out. I’m fully locked in, y’all, and writing this column with one in right now. Oh yeah, we also posted about their new collab with ARCA Menards Series driver Taylor Reimer, a former Oklahoma Sooners cheerleader.

Later that night, my fiancée and I grabbed sushi and got seated next to a couple who embodied the absolute worst of LA stereotypes. They were supposedly directing a movie, wouldn’t shut up about friends “ghosting” them, oozed me-me-me latent narcissism, and, worst of all, tipped like 5 bucks on an $80 check. Hollyweird, baby. But besides that table of horrors, it was a perfect 10 kind of Friday in Southern California.

Reminder: You can email me at brandon@brobible.com.

A few other highlights from my week: I grilled a monster steak on Saturday night from a new butcher shop in my neighborhood (always thrilled to see new mom-and-pop spots open up in LA). They used lots of cumin in their house seasoning, which gave it this really nice flavor compared to my tendency to go heavy on the garlic and onion powder. Then on Monday, I had a work dinner at Bacari with some tasty Michter’s bourbon, ceviche, lamb-hummus dip, and scallops.

Me at the Genesis

It was also a massive week for me work-wise. My Warren Haynes interview officially cracked 1M combined views and is still climbing. A huge thank you for all the comments, shares, likes, and kind words. It’s incredibly encouraging, and honestly, I need it sometimes. I’ve been absolutely ecstatic about how the clips have been received on my Instagram. If you’re one of the people who watched and shared, thank you.

I also cut THREE other long-form interviews and features this week. First, a sit-down with bourbon writer Fred Minnick about his fantastic new book, Bottom Shelf, which covers his mental health and PTSD journey after returning from Iraq, alongside his quest to track down everything about Old Crow Bourbon.

I also had a BroBible legend in the studio this week here in Los Angeles: Jon Taffer of Bar Rescue! Look out for that one next week. Finally, I talked to former CBS News reporter David Begnaud about his new venture, Do Good Crew. It was super uplifting and always a blast to talk shop with other pros in the content game. Stay tuned for all of those.

The Superhero of EVs: The Genesis GV60 Magma

Genesis Magma
Genesis Magma

If you think Genesis is just about premium luxury refinement, it’s time to wake up. They just unveiled the GV60 Magma at Circuit Paul Ricard, and it is an absolute bionic cocktail of a car. As their Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke put it, this is the “superhero” of Genesis models, bridging their signature elegance with raw, untapped athletic power to fill the one gap they had: high performance.

I’m obsessed with that magma color. Under the hood (well, the floorboards), this thing is a beast. We’re talking a combined output of 609 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque. But when you mash the Magma-exclusive orange Boost button on the steering wheel, it pushes that output to a massive 650 horsepower for 15-second bursts. With Launch Control engaged, it’ll go from a standstill to 60 mph in a blistering 3.4 seconds (and hit 124 mph in just 10.9 seconds).

Aesthetically, it asserts some serious unspoken dominance. It sits 20 millimeters lower and boasts a significantly wider stance than the standard GV60, riding on Magma-exclusive 21-inch forged wheels wrapped in beefy 275-millimeter performance tires. The interior is finished in premium Chamude (a high-end suede-like material) and features a “Magma Mode” that transforms your dash into a 3-circle layout focused on G-force, motor temps, and speed. They even engineered a Virtual Gear Shift (VGS) that replicates the shifting sensations and sound profile of a high-revving 9,000 RPM internal combustion engine. It’s the ultimate blend of serene cabin quietness and track-ready aggression.

2. The On-Camera Confidence Booster: Poncho Outdoors ‘The Bisbee’ Western Shirt

If you watched my Warren Haynes interview this week on the BroBible YouTube (sorry, I’m not going to shut up about it… it was a dream come true), you might have noticed the shirt I was wearing. It was a corduroy shirt from Poncho Outdoors, and honestly, I actually really loved how I looked on camera in it—which, if I’m being completely real with you, is a rarity for me. Their corduroy shirts are freakin’ RAD, and it immediately put the brand on my radar for all my upcoming spring gear.

Enter their Western line, specifically The Bisbee. They took that classic, pearl-snap western aesthetic and built it out of a lightweight, highly breathable performance nylon. It has built-in stretch so you can actually move in it, it dries in minutes if you’re working up a sweat on the trail or the patio, and it packs UPF 50+ sun protection. It also features a vented back to keep the breeze flowing.

But what really separates Poncho from the pack are the hyper-functional details they sneak into the design. We’re talking a built-in lens cloth right in the hem (a lifesaver for your sunglasses), a dedicated sunglasses holder, a hidden zippered pocket for your valuables, and—my personal favorite—hidden snaps under the collar so it stays perfectly in place and doesn’t flap around in the wind. At $89.95, it’s an absolute no-brainer staple for the transitional weather ahead.

3. Jamgrass Legends: The Infamous Stringdusters’ New Album ’20/20′

Since I’m clearly on a massive music kick right now after that Warren Haynes interview, I have to plug this one. The Grammy Award-winning jamgrass legends, The Infamous Stringdusters, just dropped their new twenty-track album, 20/20, via Americana Vibes to celebrate their 20th anniversary as a band.

If you arent familiar with the Dusters, they essentially took the “high lonesome sounds” pioneered by the architects of bluegrass and injected it with the frenzied, full-blown energy of a rock show. As banjoist Chris Pandolfi put it, “Bluegrass can sometimes be a little confusing… because what’s coming out of the instruments has the energy of rock-n-roll, but guys are just standing there [onstage] in suits.” The Dusters fixed that vibe completely by building their show on a full-throttle approach that makes the genre their own.

20/20 is a masterful culmination of the endless miles they’ve traveled in pursuit of that dream. It’s twenty tracks of unparalleled musical virtuosity, featuring standouts like “Working Man Blues,” “Light at the End of the Day,” and “The Voyageur” (which just got a killer new music video). They are currently out on a massive U.S. tour that just hit the Grand Ole Opry and will be rolling through Telluride, MerleFest, and a ton of other festivals all summer long. If you appreciate incredible musicianship and want to dive down a very rewarding sonic rabbit hole, you need this album in your rotation.

4. A Pour For The Parks: Wyoming Whiskey ‘National Parks No. 5’ & ‘Moran’

I realized we made it through this entire list without a dedicated whiskey recommendation, and considering I just spent the week writing about bourbon expert Fred Minnick, that needs to be remedied immediately. Right on cue, the folks at Wyoming Whiskey just announced the nationwide release of their National Parks No. 5 Straight Bourbon Whiskey, alongside a highly limited 10-year-old expression called Moran.

Timed perfectly to honor the 97th anniversary of Grand Teton National Park (which actually happens to be today, February 26th!), National Parks No. 5 is a five-year-old straight bourbon that pays tribute to America’s iconic landscapes. The label features Thomas Moran’s 1895 painting The Three Tetons (a piece currently sitting in the White House collection). The liquid inside is a beautiful reflection of Wyoming’s bold character, delivering dessert-like richness with tasting notes of baked honey crullers, almond, and cherry liqueur, finishing with cinnamon spice, espresso, milk chocolate, and leather. At $74.99, it’s an absolute steal for your bar cart.

If you want to go top-shelf, they also debuted Moran, a $500 10-year-old bourbon that honors both the artist and the 12,610-foot peak that towers over Jackson Lake. It offers an incredibly complex flavor journey packed with vibrant baked citrus peel, rich blackberry, cinnamon apple, and chewy toffee.

The best part is every bottle in the National Parks Series supports the stewards protecting these wild places. Wyoming Whiskey is very cool about this. So far, those donations have helped restore over 10 miles of the Teton Crest Trail, funded wildlife research, and engaged over 350 Indigenous youth in the park. Drink great bourbon and protect our parks—it doesn’t get much better than that.

5. The Ultimate Ground Connection: Sun Day Red Pioneer Willow Golf Shoes

Keeping with the golf theme from the top of the column and that awesome Sun Day Red “First Light” collection I mentioned a few weeks ago in TWW, we have to talk about the latest drop from Tiger Woods’ brand. Sun Day Red just unveiled the Pioneer Willow, a premium spiked golf shoe built on an absolute obsession with how a golfer connects to the ground. Let’s be real—if anyone knows what a foot needs to feel during a swing, it’s Tiger, and this shoe was developed using insights from his 40 million steps of research.

The Pioneer Willow is all about purposeful, distraction-free performance. It features a super clean Blucher construction with a supple, waterproof full-grain leather upper that looks classic but performs like a modern beast. They packed high-density foam into the collar, heel, and tongue so it fits like a glove right out of the box.

Underfoot is where the magic really happens, though. It rides on a proprietary EVA midsole with a 6mm heel-to-toe drop for an incredibly stable, supportive ride. That’s paired with a high-density TPU full ground contact plate utilizing a 9-cleat configuration (with removable Pulsar Soft Spikes included). If you want an elite shoe with maximum traction that lets you feel the turf and nothing else, this is your next pair.

6. Morning Magic: Verve Coffee Roasters x Grateful Dead ‘Cosmic Ripple’

Speaking of my current jam band kick, this drop couldn’t have been timed more perfectly. Santa Cruz-based Verve Coffee Roasters just announced their second collaboration with the Grateful Dead, and it’s an absolute must for your morning ritual.

Following the massive success of last year’s Morning Brew, they’ve returned with Cosmic Ripple. It’s a limited-edition, organic Ethiopian coffee that’s bright, lively, and transportive. But half the appeal here is the packaging. Verve teamed up with cult Los Angeles art studio Online Ceramics—the undisputed kings of modern Dead-inspired graphics and streetwear—to design an original, psychedelic visual universe for the bag. It perfectly captures that cross-current of organic coffee, music heritage, and streetwear culture.

If you’re lucky enough to live near a Verve café, starting April 3rd, they are also rolling out a limited-time “Citrus Bloom” signature beverage to celebrate the drop. It’s a Cosmic Ripple Nitro flash brew mixed with Earl Grey and orange blossom syrup, dusted with nutmeg, and topped with a dried orange wheel. Grab a bag for the house before it inevitably sells out.

7. A Century and a Quarter of American Muscle: Indian Motorcycle 125th Anniversary Collection

If you want to talk about true heritage, Indian Motorcycle is officially celebrating 125 years as America’s First Motorcycle Company (founded way back in 1901). My dad is a big Indian motorcycle guy, and I just love the Americana badassness of these bikes.

To mark the massive milestone, they just dropped an incredibly exclusive, limited-edition 125th Anniversary Collection featuring four meticulously hand-painted models: the Chief Vintage, Scout Bobber, Indian Challenger, and Roadmaster.

This lineup represents the absolute highest level of craftsmanship they’ve ever put out. The base paint is their iconic Indian Motorcycle Red, but they’ve enhanced it with metallic micro-flakes to create a stunning “Black Crystal” dynamic effect. When you get up close, you’ll even see ghosted “ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY” pinstriping. These are hyper-limited (for example, they are only making 100 of the Roadmaster globally and 250 of the Chief Vintage), and every single bike dons a unique serial number. They also come fully loaded with Indian’s Touchscreen Display powered by RIDE COMMAND+ so you have all your modern tech, navigation, and Bluetooth connectivity right at your fingertips.

But even if you aren’t currently in the market to drop $40k on a new bagger, you can still get in on the celebration. They launched a complementary 8-piece apparel collection that perfectly matches the aesthetic of the bikes. It’s headlined by an awesome limited-edition DIXXON flannel, plus a badass leather jacket that is strictly limited to only 125 pieces nationwide. The apparel is available exclusively at Indian Motorcycle dealerships right now.

8. Blue Steel Energy: Timex Waterbury Heritage Chronograph

Since I’m very into my water activities right now, I’ve been on the hunt for a watch that looks just as good by the water as it does at a nice dinner. Enter the new Timex Waterbury Heritage Chronograph. Look at that dial. It is giving absolute “Blue Steel” energy.

Timex just dropped this on February 24th, and it punches way above its weight class. It sits in a perfectly sized 39mm stainless-steel case with vertical brushing and features a stunning ice-blue dial safeguarded by a domed K1 anti-reflective mineral glass crystal. The black tachymeter bezel gives it that classic racing chronograph vibe, but the icy blue face makes it feel incredibly modern and fresh.

It comes equipped with 50M of water resistance, so it can handle splashes and light swimming just fine while you’re out on the boat or hanging poolside. You’ve got two options: a brushed and polished stainless-steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp ($349) or a handsome brown perforated natural leather strap ($299). If you’re looking for an affordable everyday wearer that looks like a million bucks, this is it.

9. The Random-But-Essential Gear Hack: Leather Honey Leather Care Wipes

Leather Honey
Leather Honey

This is a bit random, but it’s legitimately one of those things I know I’ll actually use all the time for my sneakers and boots. We’ve all been there: you step out in your favorite leather boots or fresh sneakers, and out of nowhere—bam—you get a gnarly scuff, spill, or mystery mark on them. You don’t have the time or energy to break out the brushes and do a full 30-minute cleaning routine, but you know it needs to be handled right away before it sets in.

Cue Leather Honey’s Individually Wrapped Leather Care Wipes. At just $13.99 on Amazon, these things are the ultimate low-effort maintenance hack. They are single-use wipes formulated to quickly clean and condition your leather without drying it out. You can throw a couple in your backpack, your golf bag, or your glovebox for emergencies. They work on basically everything—shoes, jackets, car seats, faux leather, and rubber—just keep them away from suede. Leather Honey has been making top-tier leather care products since 1968, and their non-toxic formula even leaves a water-repelling barrier that lasts for months. Grab a box and thank me later.

10. Loud, Proud, and Squat-Ready: Chubbies ‘Indigo Fizzes’ Crinkle Ultimate Training Shorts

Since Spring Break is practically right around the corner, we have to talk about freeing the thighs. Chubbies is currently running their biggest sale ever, taking 30% off sitewide (use code THIGHSEASON30), which makes this the absolute perfect time to pull the trigger on their brand new Crinkle Ultimate Training Shorts in the ‘Indigo Fizzes’ colorway.

These things are engineered for serious business. They took their most technical short and gave it an ultra-lightweight, 100% nylon shell with a unique “paper-crisp” feel. Because the shell doesn’t stretch, they gave it a more relaxed, open fit and deep split side hems so you get a full, distraction-free range of motion. Underneath, there’s a moisture-wicking stretch mesh boxer-brief liner loaded with antimicrobial power to keep you fresh all day long.

Between the 5.5″ inseam, the dual-layer drawstring waistband, and four perfectly sized pockets (two for your hands, two on the liner for your phone), they are equally at home crushing hard leg days or just knocking out errands on the weekend. The energy is turned up to the max on these.

11. Weird In The Best Way Possible: Vans LX Authentic 44 Shell Knit

I am oddly digging these weird new Vans that the guys over at Gear Patrol just put on my radar. Vans took their legendary Authentic sneaker—the original Style #44 deck shoe that put them on the map—and gave it one of the wildest, most textured reinterpretations I’ve ever seen.

From a distance, it looks like a chunky take on their iconic checkerboard print. But when you get up close, you realize that checkerboard is actually a complex, 3D knit overlay woven together like a dual lattice. And it gets crazier: underneath that lattice is a completely separate upper featuring a black suede toe and corduroy on the heel and counter.

To top off the absolute madness of this design, the shoe features three separate laces… two thin ones for the overlay and one classic cable lace for the actual eyelets beneath. They retain the classic waffle outsole, but everything else is totally alien in the best way possible. They are a bit elusive right now (they popped up briefly on Vans Mexico and are currently sitting on a Korean retailer site called On the Spot for around $91), but they are an absolute must-cop if you want a statement sneaker this spring.

12. The Ultimate Clean Classic: On’s Updated Roger Centre Court

Sorry, big footwear week here in TWW.

Since I’ve got the desert on my mind right now (more on that below), I’m also thinking about tennis weather. If you need a fresh pair of classic white tennis shoes for the spring, On just dropped a massive update to their Roger Centre Court, and it might just be the best white sneaker they’ve ever made.

Originally debuted back in 2020 as a super-limited release co-designed with Roger Federer, this new 2026 version is a masterclass in addition by subtraction. On stripped away the perforations, removed the little Swiss flag, and ditched the text-heavy heel tab to create a hyper-clean, monolithic surface. The result is a shoe that looks less like a chunky runner and more like a luxury dress sneaker built to rival the Stan Smith or even a pair of Common Projects. It features a sleek vegan leather upper with subtle gold logo accents and a smooth, minimal leather collar.

But because it’s On, it still has a hidden performance chassis under the hood. It runs on a concealed CloudTec platform with an adjusted Speedboard and extra foam under the forefoot for an incredibly tuned, comfortable ride. Weighing in at just 311 grams, it’s a beautifully restrained lifestyle shoe that can actually perform if you need to hit the courts.

13. Peak Sleek Americana: Cary Grant’s $12.7 Million Palm Springs Getaway

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbaAhzS49cE

If there is one thing I absolutely love this time of year, it’s the desert. Palm Springs in the late winter and early spring is the ultimate escape, and this property that just hit the market is giving me major mid-century modern, peak sleek Americana, old-school spy vibes. I love it. I want it.

This sprawling 4-acre compound in the Old Las Palmas neighborhood is known as “Villa Paradiso.” It’s for sale again (the video above is from 2018), probably because the owner didn’t want to hang out in the desert in the summer. I get it. But still.. what a place!

Originally built in 1928, it eventually fell into the hands of Las Vegas hotelier Charlie “Kewpie” Rich. Rich happened to be incredibly close friends with Hollywood legend Cary Grant, who spent so much time vacationing there with his family that they actually built a dedicated poolside guesthouse just for him. Grant’s daughter even went so far as to call the place a “desert Disneyland” growing up.

If you happen to have a cool $12.7 million laying around, you get four separate structures totaling 15,000 square feet with 8 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms. The grounds are absolutely ridiculous, featuring 200 mature palm trees, citrus groves, a sculpture-clad water feature, and uninterrupted panoramic views of the San Jacinto Mountains. There’s even a legendary piece of trivia attached to the place: Howard Hughes is rumored to have designed part of his infamous Spruce Goose seaplane while lounging by that exact swimming pool. If you want to live like true Hollywood royalty, this is the ultimate flex.
