Kirby Smart Eviscerates Auburn Transfer On Hot Mic For Horrible Rep At Georgia Football Practice

Kirby Smart Hot Mic Georgia Football

Kirby Smart was not impressed by Amaris Williams during college football spring practice at Georgia. The head coach put him on blast for the entire world to hear.

Not only did anyone walking by the facility hear him, the hot mic moment was posted online.

Although it is not uncommon for a college football player to get chewed out by his head coach, those kinds of moments are not usually made public. The practice facility in Athens leaves them exposed.

Who is Amaris Williams?

At 6-foot-3, 255 pounds, Williams was rated as a five-star prospect in the recruiting Class of 2024. He was ranked as one of the five best players at his position and top 30 players overall.

The North Carolina-native held 22 offers from schools all over the country. His recruitment came down to Penn State, Florida, Ohio State and Auburn. Williams chose the Tigers.

Despite all of the hype, the edge rusher never reached his full potential on the Plains. He made 21 tackles with two and a half sacks in two years at Auburn. His numbers were not good but they were not bad.

However, the tape showed a lot of promise. There was a reason he ranked as a five-star recruit!

Williams decided to enter the transfer portal after Hugh Freeze was fired halfway through his sophomore season. Georgia, which had a heavy hand in his recruitment out of high school, ultimately received a commitment from the rising junior.

Amaris Williams arrived to Athens in time for winter workouts. His first spring practice with the Bulldogs got underway on March 17.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart chewed out the Auburn transfer at spring practice.

By nature of where the college football facility is located on the campus at the University of Georgia, it is fairly common for the sounds of practice to spill out into the nearby parking lot. Passersby can often hear the music blaring from the loudspeaker during warmups. You can hear the whistles. Even the crack of the pads is audible from across the street.

Every so often, Kirby Smart hops on the mic. His voice can be heard booming from the sound system from more than a few feet away.

He went on a profanity-laced tirade before a game against Tennessee that went extremely viral back in 2022. The latest rant might be even more embarrassing even though it is not quite as explicit because it is directed at only one single player.

Smart got on Amaris Williams’ case after he got blown up at the line of scrimmage by 6-foot-6, 255-pound tight end Elyiss Williams. He wanted the Auburn transfer to know he will never see the field during a game if he continues to get humiliated during practice.

It is a right of passage to get a butt-chewing from Kirby Smart. Unfortunately for Amaris, his welcome to Athens moment was made public for the entire world to hear.
