Max Homa had a somewhat frustrating weekend at the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head, South Carolina. At one point, the golfer lost his composure on the course.
Homa spiked his club following a poor shot during his Sunday round. It came after commenting on the code of conduct at the Masters one week ago.
Those remarks came in response to Sergio Garcia’s highly publicized outburst in Augusta.

“I don’t like when people break clubs,” he said. “I don’t like when people beat up the golf course, because we deal with it. I think the breaking clubs makes us look spoiled.”
Garcia smashed his driver at the second hole during his Sunday round at the Masters. He broke the head off the club after destroying the tee box.
Homa disapproved. He said as much after the fact, though he admitted to having let emotions get the best of him in the past. That happened again this weekend.

Homa found himself in a tough spot during his final round of the tournament. He was already far down the leaderboard after shooting 74 on Saturday.
He’d be unable to make up much ground in Round 4. Frustrations boiled over after a bad shot on the 15th hole.
Homa threw his club after his second shot, which failed to get back on the fairway. Many immediately called out the hypocrisy on social media.
“Didn’t he just say something about golfers acting entitled?” one follower asked.
“Nobody throws stones from a glass house more than Homa,” said another.
Given the recent commentary, it wasn’t the best look. Homa finished his day at 69, putting him at -1 for the tournament. He is in 70th place at the time of this writing.
