Colorado star quarterback Shedeur Sanders made it clear, in no uncertain terms, that he has no interest in a friendship with Colorado State QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi.
The Buffs picked up a resounding 28-9 victory over their in-state rival on Saturday night, and after the game Fowler-Nicolosi tried to engage in a handshake with his opposite number.
But Sanders was having none of it.
“You done sat there talking s— on Instagram,” Sanders told Fowler-Nicolosi (at the 36:38 mark of the above video). “We handled our business.”
At which point Fowler-Nicolosi rolls his eyes and says “all right, keep talking.” Sanders obliged, responding “you can’t f— with me.”
Those comments came after Fowler-Nicolosi went on camera and talked about how the Buffaloes talked too much trash a year ago before their double-overtime home win over Colorado State.

“Yeah, they came out with that attitude and thought it was going to be a cakewalk,” he said. “They saw the reports, 27.5 points or whatever it was, and they got a rude, rude awakening real quick. I think it goes to show that the hype, media train, it only gets you so far at the end of the day.
“You have to line up 11 guys against our 11 guys and we’ll find out who wants it more. We’ll see how far Instagram followers get them.”
Those comments would make far more sense had the Rams won in 2023. But they didn’t. Colorado wasn’t any good in 2023 and still won in 2023.
The Buffs then came back a year later and shut down the CSU offense en route to a 28-9 victory. Fowler-Nicolosi completed just 22-of-39 passes for 209 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions. Sanders, meanwhile, went 36-of-49 for 310, four touchdowns and zero interceptions.
So, while the postgame trash talk may not seem all that friendly, it’s hard to argue that he’s not correct.
