Pats’ Jerod Mayo Rips Team To Shreds After Loss, & One Rookie Apparently Wants Out

It appears that there’s some drama in the New England Patriots locker room.

On Sunday morning, the Patriots were crushed in London by the Jacksonville Jaguars, and head coach Jerod Mayo was not happy with what he saw on the field from his team.

After the game, Mayo ripped into him for being ‘soft” across the board.

“Disappointing game. We started fast, but what I would say is we’re a soft football team across the board,” Mayo told reporters at Wembley Stadium.

“You talk about what makes a tough football team, that’s being able to run the ball, stopping the run and that’s being able to cover kicks. We did none of those today. They controlled the ball for most of the day. Their run game averaged over 4.5 yards per carry, our run game — I’m not sure what the average was, but it wasn’t good. It’s back to the drawing board. We can’t sit here and pout. We’ve just got to put our game together.”

Mayo went on to call out rookie wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk for dropping several passes.

“We need more from Polk,” Mayo said. “We need more concentration. He’ll be a good player in this league, but he’s got to continue to work at it.”

Polk appeared to respond to Mayo’s comment on social media by posing a peace sign on his Instagram story.
