As far as her salary is concerned, actress Sydney Sweeney recently became one of the most in-demand actresses in Hollywood.
For her starring role in the upcoming Paul Feig-directed adaptation of The Housemaid, Sweeney is being paid a $7.5 million salary, a massive boost for the 27-year-old A-list actress.
The Housemaid is just one of many projects that Sweeney has in the works in the coming years, which we’ll break down below.
Eden
The Ron Howard-directed film, which also stars Ana de Armas and Vanessa Kirby, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September but does not have a release date.
Echo Valley
Produced by AppleTV+, Echo Valley also stars Julianne Moore, Domhnall Gleeson, Kyle MacLachlan, Fiona Shaw, Edmund Donovan, and Rebecca Creskoff. It does not have a release date.
Christy Martin biopic
Currently in production (as of Fall 2024), Sweeney is set to star as groundbreaking female boxer Christy Martin in a biopic about her life.
Euphoria season 3
HBO has confirmed that a third season of Euphoria is in the works and will likely begin production in 2025.
Barbarella remake
Sweeney has signed on to star in a remake of the cult classic 1960s sci-fi film Barbarella, which originally starred Jane Fonda. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Baby Driver director Edgar Wright is set to helm the film.
Kim Novak and Sammy Davis Jr. love affair film
Announced in late October, Sydney Sweeney is set to star as Kim Novak in a film about her love affair with Sammy Davis Jr., who will be played by Industry and Alien: Romulus breakout David Jonsson. Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo will be making his feature directorial debut with the film.
The Housemaid
Sweeney will star in Paul Feig’s The Housemaid alongside Amanda Seyfried. Released in 2022 (the novel, that is), The Housemaid follows Millie (Sweeney), a struggling woman who gets a fresh start as a housemaid to a wealthy upper-class couple (one of whom will be played by Seyfried), only to soon learn that the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than her own.
Anyone But You sequel
While nothing official has been announced, both Sweeney and Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell have expressed a desire to make a sequel (and work on other projects together). Given the business that the first film did, the studio, Sony Pictures, is likely exploring a potential follow-up as we speak.
