Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy dug himself into a hole with the Cowboys‘ fanbase this week after going on a bizarre rant about criticisms of his program.
OSU is currently riding a six-game losing streak, falling to the cellar of the Big 12 standings. That didn’t stop the coach from lashing out against his naysayers.
“Unfortunately, in life, most people are weak. As soon as things start to not go as good as what they thought, they fall apart… In most cases, the people who are negative and voicing their opinions are the same ones that can’t pay their own bills.“

Oklahoma State fans took the remarks as a direct shot, even if the comments weren’t specifically aimed at Cowboys supporters.

Rather than accept blame for not being good enough on the field this season, Gundy directed the criticism elsewhere.

The head coach took to X to apologize to those he may have offended with his remarks.
Ultimately, forgiveness may only come with wins on the football field as Oklahoma State looks to stop this current skid. After starting the year ranked No. 17 in the AP Poll, the Cowboys have now fallen to 0-6 in conference play.
They’ll look to notch their first victory in league play this weekend with a road trip to TCU. One more loss guarantees that the program will finish with a losing record for the first time since Gundy’s debut season in 2005.
