The fear of finding a creature lurking inside of a toilet is very real for millions of people worldwide and for one Australian man that fear just got mixed with a healthy does of ophidiophobia (fear of snakes) after he found his toilet clogged by a python twice within one week.
Hervey Bay Snake Catchers were called out late last month to remove a coastal carpet python that had clogged the man’s toilet. The shy snake crawled up the piping and lodged itself in the S Bend which meant the snake wranglers had to cut the pipe underneath the house and flush the toilet until the snake popped out and they could grab it. That took place on October 22nd (video below the pics):
That should be the end of the story, right? The nuisance coastal carpet python was removed from the porcelain throne and everyone went about their business, no pun intended.
Well, three days later Hervey Bay Snake Catchers were called, again, to remove a coastal carpet python that had clogged the toilet, again. It was a different snake but it had clogged the same toilet as the one from three days prior!
They compiled the removal of the snakes into one video on their YouTube channel:
Carpet pythons are incredibly common in various parts of Australia. Of the 170+ species of snakes in Australia they are amongst the most common.
That said, nobody ever *expects* to find one clogging their toilet. And they ABSOLUTELY do not expect that to happen twice within a matter of three days. These snakes do seem to show up at the most inopportune times though. This one blocked a man grabbing a beer from his fridge a while back and the video went viral:
