The WSOP Circuit $1,700 Main Event at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino on North Carolina is set to enter its final day of play today with 17 players making Day 3 out of an initial field of 1,710. Things got HEATED on Day 2 when one irate individual flipped over 3 poker tables with just 65 players left in the event, sending chip stacks flying in every direction.
In a video that was shared on X (née Twitter) by 4x WSOP Circuit ring winner David Moses, you can hear Moses saying “somebody’s banned for life” as there is also some very colorful language overheard in the background. According to PokerNews, the individual was not named by the WSOP Circuit tournament team or the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino officials as things were still being handled internally.

The man can be seeing yelling “get off of me! I’m not hurting anyone!” despite having just flipped over 3 tables. First place pays out $368,380 by the way. Everyone who makes the final table will walk away with at least $24,212.
This is a legitimate nightmare for a WSOP Circuit tournament director, or any tournament director for that matter. How do you proceed from this in a timely manner without consulting surveillance footage of the chip stacks that may or may not have been accurate?
According to one commenter on Reddit, the person who flipped over the tables wasn’t even a player in the tournament which would make this all even more insane. But how things to back to play is bizarre…
In another comment, someone claims the tournament director said the players could agree on starting stacks for everyone left to start the tournament back up or they could have done a 65-way chop of the pot.
Evidently, the players opted to choose starting stacks and play down to a winner as there are 17 players coming back today for the final table, $368K, and a WSOP Circuit ring.
