Remi Wolf did her best to save Bonnaroo weekend by taking her Insanely Fire 1970’s Pool Party SuperJam to the Brooklyn Bowl Nashville. Mt. Joy and Haley Williams were among the special guests for the star-studded lineup!
It was a party.
Bonnaroo, one of the biggest music festivals in North America, lasted only one day. Torrential rain rolled through Manchester, Tennessee on Friday and left festivalgoers completely stuck in the mud. The remaining three days were canceled. Everybody was forced to leave.
Although some people did choose to go home, a large number of attendees descended upon Nashville. They used the three-quarter festival refund to book a hotel room at the last minute and drove 90 minutes north to keep the party going. I live in Nashville so it was pretty wild to see how fast it happened. All of the bars were completely dead on Friday night. Thousands of people (wearing festival clothes) completely took over every single bar and concert venue in the city on Saturday.
A cluster of scheduled Bonnaroo performers announced pop-up shows after the cancellation. RL Grime, Royel Otis, Hot Mulligan, Jack’s Mannequin, Levit, Of The Trees, Tape B, Detox Unit, Natasha Bedingfield, Mt. Joy and Destroy Boys were among those who scheduled make-up sets.
Remi Wolf also made good on her Bonnaroo superjam, originally scheduled for Saturday night on the Farm, at the Brooklyn Bowl. Tickets sold out in less than 60 seconds— no exaggeration. One minute.
I was unable to attend the concert because resale tickets skyrocketed to as much as $800 for general admission but I have major FOMO from social media. Her cover of ‘Dreams’ by Fleetwood Mac was vibe.
And then there were the special guests. Medium Build came out to duet Bonnie Raitt.
Grace Bowers ripped a wicked guitar solo.
Grouplove performed Psycho Killer.
Gigi Perez came out to sing ‘In The Middle’ with Mt. Joy.
Mt. Joy also played a few songs by themselves (with Remi Wolf)!
The headliner was the lead singer of Paramore — Hayley Miss Williams, if ya nasty. She rocked out on ‘Tell Me Something Good.’
Her mic was ON for ‘Sweet Thing.’
They are a powerhouse duo.
Remi Wolf brought all of her guest back on stage to close out the night with a star-studded rendition of an Earth, Wind and Fire classic.
I wish so badly I could’ve been in that room (without spending $800) because it looked like so much fun.
In less than 24 hours, Remi Wolf moved her star studded Superjam from the Bonnaroo Farm to Downtown Nashville!

Bonnaroo was cancelled but Remi Wolf kept the weekend alive. Her Insanely Fire 1970’s Pool Party Superjam with Mt. Joy, Hayley Williams, Medium Build, Gigi Perez and Grouplove at the Brooklyn Bowl was… insanely fire!
