The Baltimore Orioles buried the Colorado Rockies 18-0 during MLB action. One O’s slugger went viral during his lone at-bat of the contest.
Alex Jackson went full “Happy Gilmore” in the batter’s box while facing an opposing pitcher. He mimicked Adam Sandler’s iconic movie character before unloading on a 400-foot home run.
That blast came in the eighth inning of play with Baltimore already leading 17-0. In an attempt to save pitching, the Rockies put position player Kyle Farmer on the mound for the last three outs.
Farmer served up a meatball on his first pitch of the inning.

The catcher entered the game as a pinch hitter for Tyler O’Neill, who’d already homered in the matchup. Jackson would continue that trend with his eighth inning bomb.
“Rate the swing, Adam Sandler,” the Orioles wrote in a subsequent social media post. It seemed a perfect 10/10 given the final result.

The timing of the home run couldn’t have been better as it followed the recent release of “Happy Gilmore 2” on Netflix.
‘Happy Gilmore 2’ went live earlier this month.
The sequel to the epic original movie featuring Sandler as a professional golfer began streaming on July 25th. Alex Jackson waited just 24 hours to pay tribute.
To this point, reviews have been largely positive. The film features a number of cameos from professional sports stars as well as a large majority of the original cast.
Sports show host Dan Patrick, a mainstay in Sandler movies, posted some behind-the-scenes looks to build excitement in the months leading up to the release.
Alex Jackson is a fan by all accounts. He’s perfected the swing, which he improbably showcased on the biggest stage.
