WWE women’s world champion Naomi was supposed to defend her title against Iyo Sky on this past week’s episode of “WWE Monday Night RAW” on Netflix. However, she was noticeably absent, leading the company to put out a press release.
According to the release, the 37-year-old was “not medically cleared” to compete. Now, she’s scheduled to appear on this coming Monday’s episode of the show and address the situation, per WWE.
The lack of information has led to reckless speculations, with theories suggesting everything from her being pregnant to the whole thing being part of the act, much like Seth Rollins’ recent “knee injury.”
Former WWE Women’s Champ Natalya Gives Insight On Naomi’s Mysterious Absence
Naomi and WWE still have not stated specifically what kept her off TV a week ago. But thanks to former’s women’s champion Natalya, we now have at least a little idea.
Natalya says she feels Naomi needs space right now, and will talk about her absence when she’s ready to:

“Especially for the locker room, it’s one of those things that, well, somebody will know what’s going on, but in this situation, like, Naomi is a really close friend of mine, but I just feel like it’s a time right now where she needs space,” she said on a recent episode of “Busted Open Radio.”
“So usually when something crazy is going on, I don’t think it’s crazy in a bad way, but I think that, like, obviously, it’s private, it’s personal, —I feel like she will talk about it when she’s ready to talk about it, but I know she would have loved to have wrestled Iyo on Monday.”
Now, you may say, “That could be anything.”
And yes, it doesn’t give fans an exact answer. But it does seem to imply that Naomi’s issue is both real and very sensitive. Thankfully for fans, they’ll learn more on Monday. But the hope for now is that everyone involved is healthy both physically and mentally.
