The newest trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third film in James Cameron’s massive Avatar franchise, has been released. Avatar: Fire and Ash is a direct sequel to 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water.
After a 13-year gap between Avatar and The Way of Water, Academy Award-winning director James Cameron has been able to turn around
Fire and Ash in just three years, as he largely shot it alongside The Way of Water.
Having first begun in 2009 with the release of Avatar, the two Avatar films have made a combined $5.2 billion at the global box office, making it the 15th highest grossing movie franchise of all time.
For context, the 14th highest grossing movie franchise of all time is Transformers, with $5.4 billion from NINE movies.
