We are now four weeks into the 2025 NFL Season and our Week 4 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings are out. There was plenty of movement in the power rankings this week with the top and bottom of the rankings getting shifted around.
There hasn’t been a week yet where the top 3 or the bottom 3 of the NFL Staring Quarterback Power Rankings remained the same and this week the #1 overall QB earned that spot with another stellar performance.
2025 Week 4 Power Rankings: Ranking All 32 Starting NFL Quarterbacks
During last week’s NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings we learned more about the league and with each game we gather more data and a deeper understanding of each QB’s skills this season.
32. Cam Ward – Tennessee Titans (Prev. 17)

Cam Ward has been all over the place in the weekly NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings. This week he fell to last place after getting shut out on the road against the winless Texans.
Cam Ward and Tennessee moved to 0-4 on the season after Cam threw for just 108 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He did rush the ball for 22 yards but had virtually zero positive impact on the offense. This comes just one week after Cam looked good too…
31. Joe Flacco – Cleveland Browns (Prev. 32)

It is a borderline miracle that Joe Flacco is still starting for the Cleveland Browns. This week he threw for a respectable 184 passing yards but managed 0 touchdowns and threw two interceptions and fumbled the ball for an NFL low 39.4 quarterback rating.
If Cleveland commits to Joe Flacco much longer it becomes evident they are taking for the 2026 NFL Draft because Flacco cannot get anything going with this offense whatsoever.
30. Jake Browning – Cincinnati Bengals (Prev. 21)

Cincinnati Bengals backup QB Jake Browning has a tall task ahead of him. He is expected to keep the Bengals in the mix with Joe Burrow out injured for the foreseeable future. Browning fell from 21st to 30th in his first week and stays at #30 this week.
He couldn’t get anything going in Colorado, throwing for only 125 yards, 0 TDs, and 0 interceptions. Bengals fans are in for a tough season if things stay like this much longer.
29. Spencer Rattler – New Orleans Saints (Prev. 29)

Holding firm in the #29 spot on the NFL Starting QB Power Rankings for Week 4 is New Orleans Saints’ Spencer Rattler. He did a better job this week with 0 interceptions. He threw for 126 yards, 1 touchdown, but had a herculean task ahead of him traveling to Buffalo to face Josh Allen and the Bills.
Rattler did have 49 yards on the ground but he fumbled the ball and the Saints lost 19-31 and are winless on the season so far.
28. Bryce Young – Carolina Panthers (Prev. 27)

A week after picking up his first win of the season, Bryce Young was back in the losing column. The Panthers traveled to face the Patriots and got beat 42-13.
Bryce Young was 18-for-30 in passing attempts and had 150 passing yards and 1 touchdown. He didn’t do anything on the ground, scrambling for only 3 yards. Carolina looked inept against the Patriots on Sunday and that started and ended with Bryce Young being unable to conjure up any magic for his team.
27. Michael Penix Jr. – Atlanta Falcons (Prev. 31)

Michael Penix Jr. moved up 4 spots in the Week 4 NFL Staring Quarterback Power Rankings after an impressive performance. He would have moved further but he had been impotent through the first three weeks and I didn’t want to get too excited about one week of decent numbers.
The Falcons hosted Washington and picked up the 34-27 win at home. Penix Jr. threw for 313 yards which was sixth best in the league last week. He had 2 passing TDs, 1 INT, and connected on 20 of his 26 passing attempts in a game where he looked poised and in control.
26. Geno Smith – Las Vegas Raiders (Prev. 7)

I don’t know what I was thinking moving Geno Smith up so far last week to #7 in the NFL Starting QB Power Rankings. He was #13 the week before that. What we’re not seeing right now from Geno Smith is any sort of consistency.
Geno lost to the Bears at home in Las Vegas. He lost a 1-point game to the Bears! He threw for only 117 yards, had 2 passing TDs, but threw THREE interceptions. Smith connected on just 14 passing attempts with his receivers in a game where his team desperately needed more from him.
25. Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins (Prev. 28)

Tua actually moved up 3 spots this week. They beat the Jets at home 27-21 and despite losing Tyreek Hill, Tua was able to pick up the desperately needed win.
He was 17-for-25 passing for 177 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He did have a fumble in a game that would otherwise look great for him on the stats sheet. It is hard to tell if Tua is trending in the right direction and things will be considerably more difficult ahead without Tyreek but it was a great game for Tua all around and he deserved to move up a few spots.
24. Bo Nix – Denver Broncos (Prev. 26)

Bo Nix and the Broncos nearly shutout the Bengals on MNF. Nix was 29-or-42 as Denver continues to call on him to throw the ball A LOT.
Bo Nix had 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, and 326 passing yards. But again, he had 42 passing attempts for just a 7.76 yards/attempt. He did everything that was called on him and they got the easy win and that bumped Bo Nix up two spots in this week’s NFL Quarterback Power Rankings.
23. Marcus Mariota – Washington (Prev. 19)

Marcus Mariota debuted at #19 on the NFL QB Power Rankings in Week 3 after being called up to play for the sidelined Jayden Daniels. The former Heisman Award runner-up had a huge Week 3, beating the Raiders 41-24. The same cannot be said about Week 4…
Marcus faced his former team, the Atlanta Falcons, and lost 27-34 on the road. He was just 16-for-27 passing and had 156 yards through the air, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. It was a decent game for Marcus and fumbles from Ertz and Payne really hurt the team but he needed another gear before the 4th quarter. They had just one TD before the 4th and it was too little, too late by the time Mariota starting clicking with his receivers.
22. Jaxson Dart – New York Giants (Prev. Unranked)

Making his debut on the NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings is Giants QB Jaxson Dart in the 22nd spot. Everyone has to start somewhere but if he plays like this every week he’ll rock up the power rankings in no time.
With Russell Wilson getting benched, Jaxson Dart was called in to start his first game for the G-Men and threw for 111 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs in a 21-18 win over Justin Herbert and the Chargers. Dart also ran the ball for 54 yards and a touchdown but did have a fumble. All in all, this was a great debut for the former Ole Miss Rebels QB and I expect great things from him in the weeks ahead.
21. Trevor Lawrence – Jacksonville Jaguars (Prev. 21)

Trevor Lawrence didn’t move in the Week 4 power rankings, staying firm in the #21 spot. I keep waiting for a great week from the Jags franchise quarterback and it feels like he’s *this close* to finding the rhythm.
In Week 4, Trevor picked up a road win against the 49ers. That’s as tough of a stadium to play in as any. He was 21-for-31 with 174 passing yards, 1 touchdown, and 0 INTs. The Jags’ offense has been pretty balanced this season with Etienne emerging as a major ground threat and Trevor Lawrence seems content to split the yardage with a running back, for now.
20. Aaron Rodgers – Pittsburgh Steelers (Prev. 22)

Steelers QB and former NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers moved up two spots to #20 in this week’s power rankings. They got a close win over Minnesota, 24-21, with Rodgers throwing for 200 yards, 1 TD, and 0 INTs.
Rodgers looked solid. He connected on 18 of 22 passing attempts and only took 2 sacks. Aaron had the 8th highest quarterback rating in the league in Week 4 but he had been struggling since Week 1 so it will take another great performance before I’m willing to move him back into the top 10.
19. Kyler Murray – Arizona Cardinals (Prev. 20)

After falling from 12th to 20th in Week 3, Kyler moves a spot up to 19th in the Week 4 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings. For the first half of Thursday Night Football Kyler Murray looked impotent. I almost got the sense he didn’t even want to be a football player because his play was so uninspired.
But something changed at the half and he turned it up. Kyler threw for 200 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, and rushed for an additional 41 yards which led the Cardinals. Arizona did pick up a 23-20 loss at home to Seattle but Murray at least looked inspired in the second half. His team needs to see more of that from him.
18. Justin Fields – New York Jets (Prev. 32 in Week 2)

Justin Fields is back in the NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings after Tyrod Taylor taking over for Week 3. When we last saw Justin in Week 2 he was ranked 32nd after a dismal short performance that saw him leave injured and replaced by Taylor but he was back in form this week.
Fields threw the ball for 226 yards, connecting on 20 of his 27 passing attempts for an 8.37 yards/attempt average. He had 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions, took two sacks, but was a killer on the ground. Justin Fields led the Jets in rushing, running the ball for 81 yards and 1 touchdown. He was doing it all. But ultimately it wasn’t enough as the Jets lost 21-27 on the road to Miami.
17. C.J. Stroud – Houston Texans (Prev. 23)

Moving from 23rd to 17th in the NFL QB Power Rankings is Texans’ franchise quarterback C.J. Stroud. Stroud looked great in Week 4 and threw the ball for 233 yards, 2 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and connected on 22 of 28 passing attempts.
Houston shut out the Titans, winning 26-0 at home, and it is hard to imagine Stroud having to do much more than he did because they cruised to a clinical shutout. He’ll continue to move up the power rankings with weeks like that.
16. Sam Darnold – Seattle Seahawks (Prev. 14)

After moving from 29th to 14th last week, Sam Darnold drops two spots in Week 4 to 16th but more due to movers and shakers around him than due to any fault of his own.
Sam Darnold connected on 18 of 26 passing attempts for 242 yards, 1 touchdown, and 0 interceptions. He took 3 sacks and only ran the ball once when he busted out for 24 yards. Darnold did fumble the ball but the Seahawks picked up a close 23-20 win on the road in Arizona.
15. Jared Goff – Detroit Lions (Prev. 11)

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff continues to slip in our NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings. He fell from #3 to #11 last week and dropped four more spots this week to 15th.
If I had to name one singular reason why it’s because Goff is emerging as a late bloomer. He has waited until later in games to really get things going. Goff connected on 16 of 27 passing attempts for 168 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception.
Jared Goff ranked 21nd in the league this week in QBR but the Lions picked up the easy 34-10 win over Cleveland so it wasn’t as if he had to move mountains to win the game.
14. Caleb Williams – Chicago Bears (Prev. 10)

Seven days after having arguably the best week of any QB in Week 3, Caleb Williams put together another solid performance that was good enough to only drop him four spots in the NFL Starting QB Power Rankings for Week 4. Caleb Williams and the Bears won a close battle on the road, beating Vegas 25-24.
He threw the ball 37 times and completed 22 of those passes for 212 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception while rushing for 13 yards. Caleb had a 142.6 passer rating in Week 3 and this week it was just 73.3. It was a regression for sure.
13. Drake Maye – New England Patriots (Prev. 12)

Coming in at #13 this week in our NFL Quarterback Power Rankings is New England Patriots QB Drake Maye and don’t look now but the Pats might be… decent? Maybe even good?
Drake Maye and the Patriots cruised to a 42-13 win over the Carolina Panthers despite Carolina jumping out to a 10-0 lead and the Pats not scoring until the 2nd quarter. They then scored 3 TDs in the 2nd and 5 straight unanswered touchdowns before Carolina would find the end zone again.
Drake Maye only threw the ball 17 times and connected on 14 of those passing attempts for 203 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He also had a rushing touchdown in what was his most complete game of the season so far.
12. Jordan Love – Green Bay Packers (Prev. 16)

A week after losing to the Browns (!!), Jordan Loved looked sharp. He made NFL history in the 40-40 tie, a ‘scorigami’ and first time an NFL game has ever ended in a 40-40 tie.
That Sunday night game was electric though, and Jordan Love threw the ball for 337 yards while connecting on 31 of 43 passing attempts for 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.
The Green Bay Packers cannot rely on him to throw the ball 43 times every game. That is not tenable over the course of a season. They need to get the ground game going to support Jordan Love but he looked great in a bounce back week after the ugly loss to Cleveland.
11. Carson Wentz – Minnesota Vikings (Prev. 18)

Carson Wentz first appeared on the NFL Staring Quarterback Power Rankings last week unranked after being asked to start in place of the injured J.J. McCarthy. He debuted at #18 and jumped to 11th this week after a solid performance.
Wentz threw the ball 46 times and connected on 30 of those passes for 2 touchdowns, 2 INTs, and 350 passing yards which was 2nd most in the league this week. If he’s going to have to throw the ball 46 times then he should be racking up numbers like that for sure.
Minnesota lost a close to Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers, taking the 21-24 loss, and Wentz’s yards/attempt was down this week from 8.7yds last week to 7.61 this week, but without him the Vikings would have been shutout. He was doing everything possible to keep that game as close as it was including engineering two 4th Quarter touchdown drives.
10. Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys (Prev. 13)

Dak Prescott didn’t roll over against the Packers and instead rose to the challenge and fought back in a game that started with Green Bay going up 14-0. Many Cowboys fans were worried they were in for a long night when the team went down by two touchdowns but the winds shifted.
Dak moves from 13th to 11th in the Week 4 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings after a stellar night. He threw the ball 40 times and connected on 31 of those passing attempts for an average of 7.98yds/attempt while racking up 319 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and he had 0 interceptions on the night.
Dak Prescott also had a rushing TD as the Cowboys tied Green Bay 40-40 for the first 40-40 tie in NFL history.
9. Brock Purdy – San Francisco 49ers (Prev. Unranked/Injured)

Brock Purdy came back from injury this week and ranked 7th in the league in passing yards with 309 yards through the air against Jacksonville. His stats were all. over the place, connecting on 22 of 38 passes for 309 through the air, 2 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and 1 fumble.
It was a hectic first game back from injury and the Niners lost 26-21 at home. But Brock had some stellar moments in the game and looks to be great going forward.
8. Jalen Hurts – Philadelphia Eagles (Prev. 6)

Jalen Hurts remains an enigma. The reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback has only really put up big passing yardage once this season (last week) but he keeps doing more than enough to beat the opposition and the Eagles are just one of two remaining undefeated teams in the NFL.
Hurts threw the ball for only 130 yards. He did have two passing TDs and 0 interceptions while also rushing for 62 yards which led the Eagles to a 31-25 win over Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers in Tampa. I really don’t know what to do with Jalen in the weekly NFL QB Power Rankings. Is he a top 5 QB in terms of stats? He’s not. But is he currently among the top 5 quarterbacks I would want on my team? Probably.
7. Lamar Jackson – Baltimore Ravens (Prev. 2)

After climbing to the #1 spot in the Power Rankings in Week 2 and falling to #2 last week, Lamar Jackson falls to #7 this week after putting up solid numbers before sustaining what appears to be a hamstring injury. It is unclear if Lamar Jackson will be back next weekend, it’s possible though.
Before Cooper Rush took over, Lamar was 14-for-20 for 147 passing yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception, and he had an additional 48 rushing yards. His performance was on its way to being a classic Lamar Jackson game against the Chiefs before the injury but he went out and Baltimore ultimately lost 37-20 to the Chiefs in Kansas City.
6. Justin Herbert – Los Angeles Chargers (Prev. 1)

Justin Herbert dropped 5 spots in the NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings this week, falling from #1 down to #6 after a pedestrian week. Herbert and the Chargers lost in New Jersey to the Giants, 21-18, and Justin only connected on 23 of 41 passing attempts.
Herbert had 203 passing yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. Los Angeles only had one TD in the second half of the game, that was their only points at all in the second half. And Herbert needed to do a much better job at finding his receivers. Even still, he ranks 4th this season in passing yards with 1,063 through four weeks.
5. Daniel Jones – Indianapolis Colts (Prev. 5)

Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones stays in the #5 spot in the NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings after a 27-20 loss on the road to Stafford and the LA Rams, a loss that Daniel Jones looked human in for the first time.
Daniel Jones threw the ball 33 times and connected on 24 of those attempts. He had 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions, and 262 yards in a game where he seemed to be a little out of sync.
Through 4 weeks, Daniel Jones ranks 3rd in passing yards (1,078), 3rd in yards/attempt (8.9), and 8th in QBR.
4. Baker Mayfield – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Prev. 3)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting QB Baker Mayfield dropped from 3rd to 4th this week after a loss to the Eagles. Baker and the Bucs couldn’t muster up much of anything in the first half and fell into a 24-6 hole before halftime.
Then the Baker Mayfield we all know and love came out in the second half and the fireworks began. He had what was probably the most impressive passing TD of the week threading the ball between two Eagles defenders for a touchdown and he did it all without Mike Evans.
Baker was 22-for-40 for 289 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, and 13 more yards on the ground. He was the catalyst that got the game close in what appeared to be a sad blowout in front of the home crowd.
3. Patrick Mahomes – Kansas City Chiefs (Prev. 9)

Patrick Mahomes looked like himself this week. He jumps from 9th in the NFL QB Power Rankings to 3rd. Mahomes engineered a 37-20 win at home against the Baltimore Ravens in a game where Lamar Jackson went out injured.
This was easily Pat’s best game of the season by a mile. He threw for 270 yards (25-for-37), 4 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions while only taking 1 sack for QB Rating of 124.8. If he puts performances like this every week he will be back in the #1 spot in the power rankings before the end of October.
2. Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills (Prev. 4)

Josh Allen climbed two more spots this week from 4th to 2nd after moving from 6th to 4th last week in our NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings. Josh Allen could easily be the #1 QB in the league on any given week but there are times when he simply isn’t called on to do much.
Allen threw for 209 yards (16-for-22), had 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, and rushed the ball for 45 yards and a touchdown on the ground. It was an easy, clinical win at home over New Orleans for Allen and the Bills.
1. Matthew Stafford – Los Angeles Rams (Prev. 5)

Matthew Stafford moved all the way to the #1 spot this week. In Week 3, he lose a nail biter to Eagles after a last second blocked field goal. That could have broken his resolve but it didn’t!
Stafford followed up the Week 3 loss by coming out and leading league in Week 4 with 375 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He connected on 29 of his 41 passing attempts for a 27-20 win over MVP contender Daniel Jones and the Colts.
Through four weeks, Matthew Stafford ranks 2nd in the NFL with 1,114 passing yards, just 5 yards behind Dak Prescott, and he’s tied for 3rd with 8 passing touchdowns.
And thus concludes the Week 4 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings for all 32 NFL starting QBs last week. What do. you think we got right? Wrong? Let us know in the Facebook comments!
