“This is Fine,” one of the internet’s all-time great memes has been turned into a video game and the demo is available to play right now. That’s right. Everyone can now play as the classic dog calmly sitting in a room on fire, created in 2013 by webcomic artist KC Green, in a retro-style action-adventure game.
The video game, This Is Fine: Maximum Cope, sees the famous Question Hound in a side-scrolling Metroidvania game just trying to get through the day without being overcome by a wide range of “enraged enemies.” Along the way, he must, of course, collect coffee beans – the currency used to purchase perks and refill his healing coffee cup.
“Step into Question Hound’s collapsing theme park of anxieties and surreal challenges,” developer Numskull Games writes in the description to a teaser for This Is Fine: Maximum Cope. “Navigate wild platforming, puzzles, and bizarre encounters as you fight to keep it together in a world where everything is definitely not fine.”

‘This Is Fine: Maximum Cope’ is a ‘collapsing theme park of our deepest inner anxieties’
The game includes the five “surreal worlds” of Humiliation, Fear, Failure, Loss, and Regret; six bosses and abilities to master; 28 collectibles to find, and 27 Perks to unlock.
“Humiliation. Fear. Failure. Loss. Regret. We’ve all felt them, but have you been trapped inside their prison teeming with minions?” the game’s description reads on Steam, where gamers can find a playable demo. “Taunted by the ghostly memories of your high school blunder years, hunted by dizzying work deadlines, or haunted by all those things you should never have done. Sounds fun, right?! It’s time to face those demons head-on.”
Each world pits Question Hound against enemies that are each an embodiment of everyday worries. Just don’t forget while you traverse these worlds, as the developers suggest, “Be sure to stop at every burning Rest Point to save, sip coffee, and pretend everything is fine for a brief moment.”

“When you have an energy-sapping encounter with the toilet and need a swig of strong coffee to recover. We’ve all been there… right?”
