We are officially 8 full weeks in the 2025/26 NFL season and our Week 8 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings are out! I believe they call this week ‘Bye-Mageddon’ with six NFL teams on bye week. That certainly mixed up the weekly NFL Quarterback Power Rankings but we also saw some standout performances and some of the league’s best quarterbacks stumbled.

I said this last week, but it is a lot easier for quarterbacks to move out of the top 10 than it is for them to move into it. The top 10 is sticky, as you all have seen. But that said, we actually saw a ton of movement in the Week 8 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings.

Week 8 Quarterback Power Rankings: Ranking All 32 Starting NFL Quarterbacks In The 2025 NFL Season

In Week 7, we got a new #1 in the Quarterback Power Rankings so naturally that QB was on bye this week… A few guys had a chance to take over the #1 spot and there’s movement in the top 10 but I don’t want to spoil it. We also saw some quarterbacks make their debut in the weekly power rankings. So without further ado, let’s get to the Week 8 Starting NFL Quarterback Power Rankings!

32. Spencer Rattler – New Orleans Saints (Prev. 28)

New Orleans Saints starting quarterback Spencer Rattler
New Orleans Saints starting quarterback Spencer Rattler

Spencer Rattler fell to last place in the Week 8 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings after another lackluster week. New Orleans got torched by Tampa Bay’s defense, losing 23-3.

Rattler was 15/21 passing for just 136 yards and 1 interception before getting benched for Tyler Shough who came into the game and put up a nearly identical stat line. I’d say NOLA should keep him benched but after Tyler’s near-mirror image stats (128 yards, 1 INT) they might want to stick with him a week longer…

31. Geno Smith – Las Vegas Raiders (Prev. 30)

Geno Smith and the Las Vegas Raiders were on Bye this week. This comes a week after Geno was benched. Who knows what next week holds for him.

30. Dillon Gabriel – Cleveland Browns (Prev. 28)

Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel
Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel

The latest reports indicate the Cleveland Browns will stick with Dillon Gabriel over 3rd stringer Shedeur Sanders despite Cleveland getting beat up again. Gabriel falls two spots in the Week 8 Quarterback Power Rankings after putting up an ugly state line.

Last week, was 13/18 passing for 116 yards, 0 TDs, and 0 INTs. That’s not good at all but he didn’t overtly hurt his team. This week, Gabriel was 21/35 for just 156 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. He threw the ball 17 more times and only picked up 40 more yards! Something’s gotta give in Cleveland.

29. Kirk Cousins – Atlanta Falcons (Prev. Unranked)

Kirk Cousins of the Atlanta Falcons

Did Kirk Cousins look sharp coming in for Michael Penix Jr. and the Atlanta Falcons? No. But did they win the game? Also, no. Atlanta got smacked by the Dolphins.

Cousins was 21/31 passing for 173 yards, 0 TDs, and 0 interceptions. His QBR of just 35.5 wasn’t what Atlanta needed and he will need to pick things up fast.

28. Andy Dalton – Carolina Panthers (Prev. Unranked)

Andy Dalton made his Panthers starting debut in place of Bryce and he starts at #28 in the Week 8 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings after losing 40-9 to the Bills in a home game that should have been closer.

Dalton was 16/24, had 0 passing TDs, 1 interception, 175 passing yards, and 2 lost fumbles. That’s three turnovers from the veteran QB in a blowout. Not at all what Carolina was hoping to see from him this week.

27. Marcus Mariota – Washington Commanders (Prev. Unranked)

Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota

Washington Commanders backup QB Marcus Mariota was once again needed to fill in for an injured Jayden Daniels and once again Marcus Mariota showed why he is a backup these days and not a starter. Mariota was 21/30 passing for 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions and he was visibly upset after coughing the ball up.

Mariota had 212 passing yards and weirdly led his team on the ground with 28 rushing yards as Washington wasn’t able to move the ball at all. Mariota also fumbled the ball. I’d say the Commanders desperately need Jayden Daniels back bu he hasn’t looked good at all in recent weeks either.

26. Caleb Williams – Chicago Bears (Prev. 26)

Caleb Williams Chicago Bears
Caleb Williams Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams stays at #26 this week in the Quarterback Power Rankings. Chicago was on the road in Baltimore facing an untested QB in Tyler Huntley and Caleb Williams had to be feeling good about their chances to sneak a W but things did not go his way.

Caleb Williams was 25/38 passing for 285 yards, 0 TDs, and 1 interception. What are they putting in the water in Chicago that makes Caleb’s wide receivers allergic to the end zone? People are wondering…

25. Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins (Prev. 32)

Tua Tagovailoa Miami Dolphins
Tua Tagovailoa Miami Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa must have read the BroBible Quarterback Power Rankings and heard my criticisms because he finally woke up this week. He was 20/26 passing for 205 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions.

Miami picked up an easy road win in Atlanta over the Falcons in Kirk Cousins’ season debut for Atlanta. It was easily Tua’s best showing of the season so far and hopefully a sign of things to come, and it moved him up 7 spots in the Week 8 quarterback power rankings and out of last place.

24. Cam Ward – Tennessee Titans (Prev. 25)

Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans

Cam Ward moved up 1 spot in the Week 8 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings despite, and stop me if you’ve heard this one before, the Tennessee Titans picking up another loss. They were in Indianapolis against Daniel Jones and got blown out, losing 38-14.

Cam Ward was 22-of-38 passing for 259 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. With 0 fumbles, the INT was his only turnover of the game. Cam Ward took 4 sacks which is one less than last week and we’ll call that improvement for now…

23. Tyler Huntley – Baltimore Ravens (Prev. Unraked)

Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley
Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley

Coming off the bye week, it looked like Lamar Jackson was going to be back in place of the truly awful backup Cooper Rush but Lamar’s injury lingered and the Ravens went with Tyler Huntley who looked solid and picked up a desperately needed win for Baltimore.

Tyler Huntley was 17/22 passing for 186 yards, 1 touchdown, and 0 interceptions. His accuracy did not go unnoticed. He also had 56 rushing yards and led the Ravens to a 30-16 win over Chicago. If Tyler Huntley plays like this again (if Lamar isn’t back), he will move up the Quarterback Power Rankings quickly.

22. Carson Wentz – Minnesota Vikings (Prev. 16)

Minnesota Vikings starting quarterback Carson Wentz

Carson Wentz and the Minnesota Vikings got torched on Thursday Night Football by Justin Herbert and the Chargers. The game started relatively slow with a 7-0 Los Angeles first quarter but quickly got out of hand for Wentz and Minnesota.

Carson was 15/27 passing for 144 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. He was sacked 5 times on the night and fumbled once but recovered it. His accuracy wasn’t there. They were outmatched. It was just a bad game all around for Carson Wentz and the Vikings.

21. Justin Fields – New York Jets (Tyrod Taylor OUT)

aaron glenn justin fields
aaron glenn justin fields

Justin Fields was back in Week 8 for the New York Jets in place of Tyrod Taylor who started last week. Fields actually looked new and improved and he was rewarded with the win.

It was a close one, but the Jets beat the Bengals 39-38 and Justin Fields was 21/32 passing for 244 yards and 1 touchdown (0 INTs). He also had 32 rushing yards. With 23 points in the 4th quarter, the Jets legitimately shocked the Bengals and this could go a long way in boosting Justin Fields’ confidence.

20. Jaxson Dart – New York Giants (Prev. 20)

Giants QB Jaxson Dart
Giants QB Jaxson Dart

Jaxson Dart holds down the #20 spot in the Week 8 Quarterback Power Rankings with no movement from last week. He was 14/24 passing for 193 yards, 1 touchdown, and 0 interceptions.

Dart did have a rushing TD and 17 total yards on the ground. Ultimately, it was not enough to top the Giants’ division rival Eagles and they lost 38-20 but it was a game nobody (who isn’t a Giants fan) realistically expected Jaxson Dart to win. This was a week of improvement for him.

19. Mac Jones – San Francisco 49ers (Prev. 10)

quarterback Mac Jones
quarterback Mac Jones

Mac Jones has been plummeting in the NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings. He was #4 in Week 6, #10 in Week 7, and has fallen to 19th in Week 8 after back-to-back losing performances.

This week, Mac Jones was 19/32 passing. His accuracy has evaporated into thin air. He had 192 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, and lost 26-15 on the road to the Texans. Will Mac turn it around before Brock Purdy comes back?

18. Trevor Lawrence – Jacksonville Jaguars (Prev. 15)

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence fell three spots in the NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings this week due to no fault of his own, because the Jacksonville Jaguars were on bye, but because players ranked behind him last week played solid this week and deserved to move up.

17. C.J. Stroud – Houston Texans (Prev. 21)

Houston Texas quarterback C.J. Stroud
Houston Texas quarterback C.J. Stroud

C.J. Stroud looked new and improved this week. He climbed 4 spots in the NFL Starting QB Power Rankings for Week 8.

Stroud was 30/39 passing for 318 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. His 318 passing yards were 2nd in the league, only behind Jordan Love. And the Texans got a big home win over the 49ers to move to 3-4 on the season.

16. Jacoby Brissett – Arizona Cardinals (Prev. 13 – BYE)

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett

Jacoby Brissett fell three spots this week despite the Arizona Cardinals being on bye. He debuted at #16 last week and remains the backup in Arizona but looked rock solid in Week 7.

15. Jared Goff – Detroit Lions (Prev. 18 – BYE)

Detroit Lions starting quarterback Jared Goff in the Week 2 starting NFL qb power rankings

Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions were on bye this week. The Lions remain NFC contenders and that starts and ends with Jared Goff who has shown us some roller coaster play so far this season. It will be interesting to see how he looks coming off the bye feeling rested.

14. Bo Nix – Denver Broncos (Prev. 17)

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix

I’m going to be honest… If Bo Nix keeps this up I want to move him into the top 10 next week. He was 17th in the Week 7 power ranking sand moved to 14th in the Week 8 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings after sealing a 44-24 win at home over the Dallas Cowboys.

In Week 7, Bo Nix was 27/50 in passing but had 279 yards and 2 TDs (0 INTs). He threw the ball A LOT less this week, and was 19/29 passing for 247 yards. But Bo Nix had 4 passing touchdowns and 1 interception. Nix was a lot more effective throwing the ball less and that’s a trend they’ll love to see in Denver.

13. Aaron Rodgers – Pittsburgh Steelers (Prev. 12)

Aaron Rodgers with the Pittsburgh Steelers
Aaron Rodgers with the Pittsburgh Steelers

Aaron Rodgers is vengeful individual. Just look at what he said after beating the Jets. And on a scale of 1-to-100, you just know that Rodgers wanted to beat the Packers 100 out of 100. He wanted it soooo badly. And he looked sharp but it just wasn’t enough.

Aaron Rodgers was 24/36 passing for 219 yards, 2 passing touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and 0 fumbles. He took 3 sacks for 17 yards. In Pittsburgh, the narrative used to be that their defense was always among the league’s best and that’s just not the case anymore. Aaron Rodgers and the offense got no help from Pittsburgh’s defense who gave up 360 passing yards to Jordan Love.

12. Joe Flacco – Cincinnati Bengals (Prev. 19)

Joe Flacco with the Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Flacco with the Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Flacco looked good again this week and moved up in the Week 8 power rankings. He was a bottom feeder early in the season with the Browns but is having a renaissance with the Bengals.

Despite losing 39-38 to the Jets, Flacco had a great stat line. He was 21/34 passing for 223 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions (0 fumbles). Flacco also had a rare rushing touchdown and was doing everything he could but alas, the clock was not on his side.

What did they put in Joe Flacco’s coffee this week? He jumps up 9 spots in the Quarterback Power Rankings and looked like one of the best QBs in the league this week.

Flacco had the second-most passing yards in the NFL in Week 8 with 342. He was 31/47 passing for 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Joe was able to pick up a win over fellow future AARP recipient Aaron Rodgers, a 33-31 win at home that Cincinnati desperately needed. Great stuff all around!

11. Sam Darnold – Seattle Seahawks (Prev. 11 – BYE)

Sam Darnold holds his #11 spot in the Week 8 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings despite watching the games from his couch. The Seahawks were on bye this week but Sam Darnold’s play has been stellar the past few weeks.

10. Jordan Love – Green Bay Packers (Prev. 14)

Jordan Love Green Bay Packers quarterback

Jordan Love led the NFL in passing yards in Week 8 and moved from 14th to 10th in the Quarterback Power Rankings. He was facing Green Bay Packers legend Aaron Rodgers on the road in Pittsburgh but the Steelers’ defense was no match for Jordan Love.

He threw for 360 yards (29/37), 3 passing TDs, 0 interceptions, and led his team to a 35-25 over Aaron Rodgers on the road. It was a huge win for the current face of the franchise.

9. Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills (Prev. 9)

Bills QB Josh Allen
Bills QB Josh Allen

Coming off a bye week, Josh Allen and the Bills dominated Carolina from start to finish, winning 40-9. Josh never really had to do much though.

He was 12/19 passing for 163 yards, 1 touchdown, and 0 interceptions. But when they got in the red zone it was all Josh Allen as he had 2 rushing TDs and only 7 total yards on the ground. He looked fresh coming off the bye week and the Bills will have loved seeing that extra pep in his step.

8. Justin Herbert – Los Angeles Chargers (Prev. 6)

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert
Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert

Justin Herbert got off to a relatively slow start on Thursday Night Football against Minnesota but things picked up fast. He come sin at #8 in the Week 8 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings after throwing for 227 yards on 18 of 25 passes.

Herbert tossed 3 touchdowns, had 1 interception, and his legs were moving with 62 rushing yards on the night. It was a solid win for LA and Herbert looked to be firmly in charge outside of the lone interception. Herbert really only dropped this week because some players around him had absolutely baller games in Week 8 after incredibly form recently.

7. Jalen Hurts – Philadelphia Eagles (Prev. 7)

Jalen Hurts
Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts is starting to really emerge as one of the top passers this season. He was 3rd in passing yards last week and in Week 8 Hurts came out and blew the Giants away 38-20 at home.

Jalen Hurts was 15/20 passing for 179 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He also scrambled for 22 yards and had complete and total control of the game at all times. If you are Philly, you are starting to like your chances to repeat as Super Bowl champs if Jalen Hurts keeps playing like this.

6. Drake Maye – New England Patriots (Prev. 8)

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye

Don’t look now but New England Patriots QB Drake Maye is knocking on the doorstep of being a top 5 QB in the weekly Quarterback Power Rankings. He moves from 8 to 6 this week after throwing 3 touchdowns (1 INT), 282 yards, and was accurate on 18 of 24 passes.

New England beat Cleveland to a pulp at home, winning 32-13, to move to 6-2 on the season and that’s due in large part to Drake Maye really stepping up this season with stellar quarterback play.

5. Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys (Prev. 2)

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott passing the ball
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott passing the ball

Last week I was saying that Dak Prescott could move into the “#1 spot in the Quarterback Power Rankings any week now” if he had another good week. Did I jinx him? I hope not. Because Dak fell three spots in the QB Power Rankings after struggling for the first time in two months.

Dak Prescott was 19/31 passing for 188 yard, 0 TDs, and 2 interceptions en route to a 44-24 loss on the road in Denver. He did have 31 yards on the ground and 0 fumbles but the 2 interceptions cost the Cowboys points.

4. Baker Mayfield – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Prev. 4)

Baker Mayfield and his small hands
Baker Mayfield and his small hands

It was a weird week for Baker Mayfield. He stays at #4 in the Quarterback Power Ranking sthis week despite having to do nothing much at all. Tampa Bay beat up NFC South division rival New Orleans 23-3 and Baker Mayfield only threw the ball for 152 yards (15/24 passing), with 0 TDs and 0 INTs.

This was Baker Mayfield’s first real ‘off week’ in recent memory but it’s hard to characterize it as such because he was never pressured to really move the ball down the field. It was Tampa Bay’s defense that shined in this game. It will be interesting to see if this is a trend for Baker or just a blip on the radar.

3. Patrick Mahomes – Kansas City Chiefs (Prev. 3)

Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes had himself a wild Monday night on the stat sheet. Patty was 25/34 passing for 299 yards, just a hair shy of 300. This kept him firmly in the #3 spot in the Week 8 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings.

He threw for 3 touchdowns but also had 2 interceptions on the night. Those might’ve been costly if they weren’t playing the Commanders because Kansas City picked up an easy 28-7 win in Week 8.

2. Daniel Jones – Indianapolis Colts (Prev. 5)

Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Daniel Jones
Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Daniel Jones

MVP candidate Daniel Jones was 6th in passing yards in Week 8 and moved from 5th to 2nd in the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings after a season’s worth of solid play. He was 21/29 passing against the Titans’ defense for 272 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions.

The Indianapolis Colts moved to 7-1 on the season and a perfect 5-0 at home. They have not been riding this high since the Andrew Luck days and Daniel Jones deserves the lion’s share of credit for the stellar play from Indy’s offense because he has allowed Jonathan Taylor to really bust loose with defenses fearing the QB threat.

1. Matthew Stafford – Los Angeles Rams (Prev. 1)

Matthew Stafford LA Rams
Matthew Stafford LA Rams

Our #1 ranked QB in the Week 8 Quarterback Power Rankings, Matthew Stafford, quite literally had to do nothing to maintain this spot in Week 8. The Los Angeles Rams were on bye this week and Stafford got to sit at home and rest.

He earned it. No other QB this week did enough to unseat Stafford who has been playing lights out all season.
