Week 9 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings: All 32 Starting NFL QBs Ranked

We are now 9 full weeks into the 2025/26 NFL season and our Week 9 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings are officially out. There was a LOT of movement in the top 10 this week with some of the NFL’s best starting quarterbacks struggling, some were on bye, some returned from injury, and others just got outplayed by their competition.

Every week I mention that it is a lot easier for QBs to move out of the top 10 in the weekly NFL Quarterback Power Rankings because those in the top 10 truly earned that spot with consistent play. That is less true this week than in weeks past, certainly than in the Week 8 Power Rankings, as we saw quite a bit of movement this week.

Week 9 Quarterback Power Rankings: Ranking All 32 Starting NFL Quarterbacks In The 2025 NFL Season

The #1 quarterback in our weekly NFL QB Power Rankings has now held that spot for three weeks in a row. That is the longest any quarterback has been ranked #1 in the power rankings so far this season. Dare I say he is that dude and will stay there for quite a while to come? Now without further ado, let’s get to the Week 9 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings!

32. C.J. Stroud/Davis Mills – Houston Texans (Prev. 32)

Houston Texas quarterback C.J. Stroud
Houston Texas quarterback C.J. Stroud

C.J. Stroud was at 32nd last week in the Quarterback Power Rankings and this week he is there again, combined with Davis Mills who came in to replace him after the injury.

Stroud and Mills combined for 23/40 passing for 191 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. They also combined for just 19 rushing yards and no TDs. It was an impotent offense and their combined performance deserves the last place ranking because based on last week (ranked 32nd ) there was no reason to move them up.

31. Cam Ward – Tennessee Titans (Prev. 31)

Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans

Holding firm in the 31st spot in the Quarterback Power Rankings is Cam Ward. The Titans lost at home, again, to the Chargers (27-20), but at least this time it was close.

Cam Ward was 21/21 passing for 145 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He fumbled the ball twice though. At this point there are no signs which indicate he is capable of running the Titans’ offense.

30. Bryce Young – Carolina Panthers (Prev. Unranked)

Andy Dalton Carolina Panthers quarterback

Back in his starting position with Andy Dalton back on the bench, Bryce Young comes in at 30th in the Quarterback Power Rankings. He picked up a 16-13 win on the road in Green Bay over Jordan Love and the Packers. That is huge, right? He must’ve put up incredible numbers, right???

Not so fast… He was 11-of-20 passing for just 102 passing yards, 0 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He also fumbled the ball. So Bryce Young had 2 turnovers, no points, and still managed to beat the Packers in Green Bay. That is a legitimate miracl.

29. Dillon Gabriel – Cleveland Browns (Prev. 30)

Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel
Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel

Dillon Gabriel and the Cleveland Browns were on bye this week. He moved one spot from Week 8.

Last week he was just 13/18 passing for 116 yards. Cleveland needs a lot more from him if they want to pick up a few wins this season. Or maybe he’s the man they need at QB to start tanking for next year’s draft…

28. Justin Fields – New York Jets (BYE WEEK)

aaron glenn justin fields

Justin Fields and the New York Jets were on Bye this week. Hopefully this gives them some time to regroup and start coming together as an offense because honestly, I’m tired of asking every week if we think the NY Jets are cursed or not (the answer is ‘yes’ they are).

27. Jayden Daniels – Washington Commanders (Prev. Unranked)

Jayden Daniels
Jayden Daniels

A week after Commanders backup QB Marcus Mariota was in the 27th spot the now-injured Jayden Daniels has taken that over in the power rankings, if only because we don’t know when we’ll see him again in the Quarterback Power Rankings.

Jayden Daniels was 16/22 passing for just 153 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He did have 51 rushing yards and a TD on the ground but was injured late and suffered a dislocated elbow.

26. Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins (Prev. 25)

Tua Tagovailoa Miami Dolphins
Tua Tagovailoa Miami Dolphins

If there was a bright spot for Tua Tagovailoa in Week 9 it would be that he racked up a lot of passing yards. Tua had 261 yards through the air while connecting on just 25 of 40 passes.

Miami got torched on TNF, losing 28-6 to the Ravens. Tua didn’t help much with 0 TDs and 1 interception leading to a QBR of just 22.9. That dropped him one spot in the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings for Week 9.

25. Michael Penix Jr. – Atlanta Falcons (Prev. Unranked)

Kirk Cousins of the Atlanta Falcons
Kirk Cousins of the Atlanta Falcons

Back in the starting position, Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. comes in at #25 in the QB Power Rankings for Week 9. He was *this close* to beating the Patriots on the road and they are legit contenders this season.

Penix threw the ball a ton. He connected on 22 of 37 passing attempts. But he did have 3 touchdowns through the air, 0 interceptions, and another 19 rushing yards (+1 recovered fumble). The 1-point loss to the Patriots on the road suggests Atlanta’s offense is waking up!

24. Tyler Shough – New Orleans Saints (Prev. Unranked)

New Orleans Saints starting quarterback Spencer Rattler
New Orleans Saints starting quarterback Spencer Rattler

Debuting at #24 this week is New Orleans Saints QB Tyler Shough who got called up for the start after the Saints were sick and tired of sub-mediocrity from Spencer Rattler.

Shough had some bright points in his debut as the starter, throwing for 176 yards (15-for-24 passing), 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. They took the L on the road to the Rams who just might be the best team in the NFC this season. Stafford is playing like a Super Bowl MVP QB at the moment and NOLA’s defense had no answers there.

23. Caleb Williams – Chicago Bears (Prev. 26)

Caleb Williams Chicago Bears
Caleb Williams Chicago Bears

Caleb Williams looked on point this week. He engineered the drive in the final seconds of the game to secure a comeback win against the Bengals, winning the 47-42 shootout on the road.

Caleb was pretty inaccurate on the day, connecting on just 20 of 34 passing attempts. But he had 280 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and 53 rushing yards. It was an incredible stat sheet and he deserved to move up this week. If he puts together another performance like that in back-to-back outings he could leap far up the Quarterback Power Rankings.

22. Geno Smith – Las Vegas Raiders (Prev. 31)

Geno Smith Las Vegas Raiders starting QB
Geno Smith Las Vegas Raiders starting QB

Geno Smith looked like a different man coming off the bye week and moved from 31st to 22nd in the Quarterback Power Rankings for Week 9. He was 29/39 passing for 284 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Receiver Brock Bowers was an absolute animal when Geno Smith would get the ball in his hands but they fell 1 point short of beating the Jags at home.

21. Jordan Love – Green Bay Packers (Prev. 10)

Jordan Love Green Bay Packers quarterback
Jordan Love Green Bay Packers quarterback

Jordan Love fell 11 spots in the Week 9 Quarterback Power Rankings after losing to the Panthers. The drastic drop is accounting for the fact that I might just be dead wrong about Jordan Love. Maybe his ‘good weeks’ are the outliers and his doodoo weeks are who he really is at QB. I’m flummoxed by him.

Love was 26/37 passing for 273 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 1 interception. How on earth do you throw for 273 yards, get zero points out of it, and lose 16-13 to the Carolina Panthers of all teams!

20. Jaxson Dart – New York Giants (Prev. 20)

Giants QB Jaxson Dart
Giants QB Jaxson Dart

Jaxson Dart remained at 20th in the Week 9 Quarterback Power Rankings. By all accounts, he had a great statline but still lost by 10 points to the 49ers.

Dart was 24/33 passing for 191 yards, 2 touchdowns, 0 interception. On the ground he had 56 rushing yards (led his team) and 1 rushing TD. It just wasn’t enough to beat the Niners at home as they were just 5-12 on 3rd down conversions and held the ball for nearly 7 minutes less than San Francisco.

19. Bo Nix – Denver Broncos (Prev. 14)

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix

Dropping five slots in the Week 9 Quarterback Power Rankings is Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix who was plagued by inaccuracy against the Texans. While the Broncos did win a close 18-15 game, Bo Nix threw the ball 37 times but only connected on 18 of those passing attempts.

Nix had 173 yards, 2 passing TDs, and 1 interception. With an 18-for-37 passing split it’s a miracle he didn’t have more interceptions in this game.

18. Trevor Lawrence – Jacksonville Jaguars (Prev. 18)

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

Holding firm in the #18 spot in the Week 9 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings is Jacksonville Jaguars franchise QB Trevor Lawrence. He wasn’t accurate with is arm but he found other ways to win the game.

Picking up a 1-point road win over the Las Vegas Raiders, Lawrence was 23/34 passing for 220 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT, and 1 recovered fumble. He got it done on the ground though, with two rushing touchdowns (24 rushing yards) to seal the 30-29 win over Las Vegas.

17. J.J. McCarthy – Minnesota Vikings (Prev. Unranked)

JJ McCarthy Ankle Sprain Lie Bench Vikings
JJ McCarthy Ankle Sprain Lie Bench Vikings

Coming back from his early ankle injury, Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy re-debuts on the Quarterback Power Rankings at 17th after beating Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions on the road. McCarthy looked great aside from a interception and all signs indicated he is that dude Minnesota has been looking for.

J.J. was 14/25 passing for 143 yards, 2 passing touchdowns, 1 interception, and he had 12 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD as well as recovered fumble. The Vikings will host Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens at home in Week 10 and it will be very telling how J.J. handles that game against a team many believe are AFC contenders with Lamar Jackson healthy again.

16. Mac Jones – San Francisco 49ers (Prev. 19)

quarterback Mac Jones
quarterback Mac Jones

Mac Jones improved three spots in the QB Power Rankings for Week 9 after a 34-24 win over the Giants on the road to improve the Niners to 6-3 on the season. He was 19/24 passing for 2 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, but he did lost one fumble.

Mac Jones was getting a lot of help from C-Mac who had 106 rushing yards and 67 receiving yards, making everyone on the 49ers side of the ball look good.

15. Aaron Rodgers – Pittsburgh Steelers (Prev. 13)

Aaron Rodgers with the Pittsburgh Steelers

Aaron Rodgers did what his team needed him to do against the Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts: not turn the ball over. He was 25/25 passing for 203 yards and 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions. His team only had one fumble. And ultimately, turnovers are won won/lost this game for both teams.

The Steelers recovered 3 fumbles and 3 interceptions while Aaron Rodgers didn’t cough the ball up. His stats weren’t spectacular but they were perfectly fine on the night.

14. Jacoby Brissett – Arizona Cardinals (Prev. 16)

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett

Coming off a bye week, Arizona Cardinals backup QB Jacoby Brissett was in against for Kyler Murray and his skills shined bright. He was 21/31 passing for 261 yards, 2 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and scooped a 27-17 win on the road against the Dallas Cowboys.

Jacoby also had another score on the ground with a rushing TD despite only having totaled 4 rushing yards in the game. The Cardinals, at least by the eye test, look better with him under center than Kyler Murray this season.

13. Jared Goff – Detroit Lions (Prev. 15)

Detroit Lions starting quarterback Jared Goff in the Week 2 starting NFL qb power rankings

Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions came out of the by week rested and hoped to pick up an easy win at home against the Minnesota Vikings. That didn’t happen, of course, but Jared Goff looked markedly improved over recent weeks.

Goff moves up 2 spots in the Quarterback Power Rankings to 13th after throwing for the 4th most passing yards in the league on Sunday with 284. He was 25/37 passing for 2 TDs and 0 INTs. Detroit is 5-3 on the season and this was their first home loss. They’ll look to bounce back next week against the Commanders who will be without their starting QB Jayden Daniels.

12. Justin Herbert – Los Angeles Chargers (Prev. 8)

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert
Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert

Justin Herbert had a perfectly fine week. The Charger beat the Titans on the road, 27-20, with Herbert accounting for 3 touchdowns.

He was 19-for-29 passing, had 250 yards through the air, 2 passing TDs, 1 interception, 57 rushing yards to lead his team, and 1 rushing TD. That is a great stat line but we have to consider the fact that it was against the Tennessee Titans who have just 1 win this season and the Chargers were only one possession away from losing the game.

11. Patrick Mahomes – Kansas City Chiefs (Prev. 3)

Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes

One week we think Patrick Mahomes IS BACK and the next week he looked helpless against a team he’s very familiar with. Losing 21-28 on the road against the Bills, Patrick Mahomes connected on just 15-of-34 passing attempts.

Mahomes had 250 passing yards which is solid but he had 0 passing or rushing touchdowns and 1 interception. The Chiefs needed a lot more from him in that game and he’s just not the same QB we have seen in years past week over week. There are flashes of brilliance but the consistency is not there.

10. Joe Flacco – Cincinnati Bengals (Prev. 12)

Joe Flacco with the Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Flacco with the Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Flacco has been on fire since he was traded to Cincinnati to replace the injured Joe Burrow and has moved up in back-to-back weeks in the NFL QB Power Rankings. For the Week 9 Power Rankings, Flacco has cracked the top 10 QBs in the league after leading all passers in passing yards by a mile.

Joe Flacco had 470 passing yards, 4 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and 1 lost fumble. It was one of those stat lines where it seemed like ‘if there was a play, he was a part of it.’ The Bengals were *this close* to mounting a legendary comeback against the Bears. In fact, they did, scoring two 2 TDs after the two-minute warning to take the lead but Chicago came back to win the game.

9. Jalen Hurts – Philadelphia Eagles (Prev. 7)

Jalen Hurts
Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts has been stellar in recent weeks. He was climbing and climbing the weekly NFL Quarterback Power Rankings until now.

He dropped two spots but to no fault of his own. The Eagles are on bye this week and some other QBs around the league balled out. If he comes back playing like he did in Week 8 then I suspect Jalen Hurts will be top 5 next week.

8. Sam Darnold – Seattle Seahawks (Prev. 11)

Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback Sam Darnold

Seattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold cracks the top 10 of our Quarterback Power Rankings this week, sliding into the 8th spot. He was 3rd in the league this week in passing yards with 330.

Darnold was 21/24 passing for 4 touchdowns, 1 interception, and scooped an easy 38-14 win over the Commanders. Seattle moved to 6-2 on the season with Sam Darnold being rock solid as the face of that offense.

7. Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys (Prev. 5)

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott passing the ball
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott passing the ball

For the second week in a row, Dak Prescott has fallen in the Quarterback Power Rankings. But that’s due in large part to how high he was ranked before and how little room there is for error at the top.

Dak Prescott is 7th this week, previously 5th, after throwing for 250 yards (24/39 passing) for 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He also had 34 yards on the ground. None of that was enough to overcome the Cardinals as the Cowboys fell 27-17 at home on Monday nightc to move to 3-5-1 on the season.

6. Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills (Prev. 9)

Bills QB Josh Allen
Bills QB Josh Allen

Josh Allen had a solid win at home over Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. He was 23/26 passing for 273 yards, 1 passing TD, 0 INTs, and 2 rushing touchdowns.

This was a top-10 QB performance through and through. And Josh Allen had the Bills’ offense looking unflappable against the Kansas City Chiefs. This was plenty to move him up three spots in the Week 9 Quarterback Power Rankings.

5. Drake Maye – New England Patriots (Prev. 6)

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye

Drake Maye did it. He has cracked the top 5 in the Quarterback Power Rankings after another solid week and a W.

Maye was 19/29 passing for 259 yards, 2 passing TDs, 1 interception, and 20 rushing yards. He did fumble the ball 2x and recovered it once but was able to overcome his obstacles and pick up a close win in a game that looked like it was going south. There was grit from Drake Maye in this game. You love to see it from the young guys.

4. Daniel Jones – Indianapolis Colts (Prev. 2)

Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Daniel Jones
Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Daniel Jones

Moving back two spots to #4 in the Week 9 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings we have Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones. He ranked 2nd in the NFL this week in total passing yards with 342 but he was plagued by turnovers.

While Daniel Jones did have 342 passing yards and 1 touchdown, he threw 3 interceptions and the Colts lost 27-20 on the road to the Steelers. He was also fumbling the ball left and right. But Daniel Jones has been rock solid for most of the season and while he fell two spots this week it isn’t quite a trend just yet.

3. Baker Mayfield – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Prev. 4 — BYE)

Baker Mayfield and his small hands
Baker Mayfield and his small hands

Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were on bye this week. Baker has been rock solid so far this season with last week being his only slight hiccup in the 2025/26 NFL season.

He moved up one slot in the Quarterback Power Rankings because of those moving around him, and due to merit over the course of the season so far. With an injured Buccaneers squad, this bye week will be telling!

2. Lamar Jackson – Baltimore Ravens (Prev. Unranked)

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson

Returning from injury this week, Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson looked as sharp as he has in years. He faced the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football and put on a show.

Lamar Jackson was 18-for-23 in passing, had 4 passing touchdowns, 204 passing yards, and 0 interceptions. He didn’t even have to use his legs, only rushing for 14 yards, as everything looked good for Lamar en route to an easy 28-6 win against Miami.

1. Matthew Stafford – Los Angeles Rams (Prev. 1)

Matthew Stafford LA Rams
Matthew Stafford LA Rams

For the third week in a row, Matthew Stafford is ranked #1 in the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings. At 37 years old, he looks as good this season as he has at any point in his career.

Stafford made mince meat of the New Orleans Saints at home. He threw 4 touchdowns, was 24/32 passing, and had 281 yards through the air. They blew out NOLA 34-10 in Los Angeles and moved to 6-2 on the season. Matthew Stafford has earned his perch atop the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings once again in Week 9.

They’ll face the 49ers next week followed by the Seahawks and Buccaneers. So Stafford is in a for challenge over the rest of November.
