Despite automatically qualifying for the 2025 USA Ryder Cup Team, Bryson DeChambeau was a controversial member of the squad.
It’s no secret that DeChambeau’s peculiar personality can often rub people the wrong way, and it turns out that DeChambeau didn’t do himself any favors prior to last year’s event at Bethpage Black.
On a recent episode of Barstool Sports’ Fore Play Podcast, host Kevin Kisner, who served as a vice captain for Team USA under Keegan Bradley, revealed that DeChambeau accidentally leaked his teammates’ phone numbers to a random stranger prior to the event.

Bryson DeChambeau Made Life Hard On His 2025 Ryder Cup Teammates
Prior to the event, Bradley organized a group chat involving all of the players and captains on the 2025 team. However, because DeChambeau was the only one without an iPhone, his teammates and captains couldn’t share video clips in the chat.
In response, Bradley made DeChambeau go out and get an iPhone solely for the purpose of U.S. Ryder Cup communications.
DeChambeau did so, but then he “accidentally” made a major mistake.
“So, he goes and gets a new phone number, shares it with Keegan, starts the group message, everyone starts commenting, nobody hears from Bryson,” Kisner said. “He had told Keegan the wrong number by one digit.
“So some random person in America is getting all these comments from the U.S. Ryder Cup team for about 30 minutes. So that was a hilarious start to our Ryder Cup.”
Kisner added that the person actually responded, saying that he didn’t know what they were talking about, but wished them good luck.
Now, in all likelihood, it was a simple mistake by DeChambeau. But would anybody put it past him to intentionally give out the wrong number because he was annoyed that he had to get an iPhone?
