There is simply no one in Hollywood doing it like Robert Pattinson right now. Quite literally, too: while every cast member of The Odyssey agreed to star in the project without reading the script, Pattinson went in the opposite direction.
During a recent interview alongside The Odyssey co-stars Matt Damon and Tom Holland with GQ, Robert Pattinson revealed that when Christopher Nolan told him about the project, Pattinson indicated that he wanted to read the script. This apparently took Nolan aback, as the acclaimed Oscar-winning director replied by saying “Everyone else just said yes.”

Nolan is beloved and a little feared by his collaborators. He operates in secrecy and compels cooperation. Pattinson said that when Nolan called to tell him about The Odyssey, “I was like, ‘Yeah, can’t wait to read it.’ He’s like, ‘You want to read it? Everyone else just said yes.’ ” [via GQ]
Pattinson is starring in The Odyssey as Antinous, one of Penelope’s (Anne Hathaway) suitors. Based on the most recent trailer, it appears that Pattinson’s Antinous will be the film’s primary antagonist.
The Odyssey is just one of five movies that Pattinson is starring in this year. April saw him star alongside Zendaya in The Drama, which grossed over $100 million at the box office to become one of A24’s top five highest-grossing films of all time.
After The Odyssey hits theaters in July, he’ll also be starring as Chris Hansen in Primetime, opposite Denzel Washington in Here Comes The Flood from City of God filmmaker Fernando Meirelles, and as Scytale, a Tleilaxu Face Dancer who executes a plot to dethrone Paul, in Dune: Part Three.
