Being a woman in sports media probably comes with tons of unwanted comments about their appearance — just ask the likes of Jenn Sterger, Erin Andrews, Charissa Thompson, Taylor Rooks, and so on. And while that’s likely the case for ESPN NFL analyst Mina Kimes, she was able to meet the latest instance with an endearing display of humor.
Over the weekend, comedian Zack Fox — who you may recognize as Quinta Brunson’s loser ex-boyfriend in ABC’s excellent sitcom Abbott Elementary — got married to Kat Matutina, whom he reportedly began dating in 2018.
After videos of their ceremony hit social media, one user on X, formerly Twitter, made a viral comment saying that Fox “found a thick Mina Kimes and put up the jersey” in a post that’s racked up over 5 million views.

The meme that Kimes replied with is a screencap from the skit “Brian’s Hat” on the popular Tim Robinson-created Netflix sketch comedy show I Think You Should Leave.
Kimes, 39 years old, has been with ESPN since 2014, where she began as a print reporter, writing profiles on athletes such as Aaron Rodgers, Antonio Brown, Baker Mayfield, Darrelle Revis, Tyrod Taylor, and Michael and Martellus Bennett, and more.
In recent years, Kimes has become one of ESPN’s most high-profile talents, appearing on shows such as SportsCenter, First Take, NFL Live, Monday Night Countdown, and more. She also hosts her own podcast, The Mina Kimes Show featuring Lenny.
Kimes’ worth to ESPN is evident in her contract as she signed an extension in September 2023 that reportedly pays her over $1.7 million per year.
