Dillon Gabriel is taking part in rookie camp with his new team after being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in April. He hasn’t gotten off the best start!

Part of that has been on-field play. The quarterback was seen throwing an awful interception over the weekend that went viral on social media.

Much of the reaction was due to his NFL Draft status in comparison to a teammate in the QB room. The Browns selected Gabriel before picking Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round.

Sanders is a player that often receives criticism, some of which is unwarranted. Viewers believed had he been the passer to throw that pick, the response would’ve been much different.

Many of the posts on social media applauded Cleveland linebacker Carson Schwesinger as opposed to ripping Dillon Gabriel. While the QB avoided some backlash for the bad pass, but he wasn’t safe from catching strays with media members.

A Browns reporter called Dillon Gabriel short.

After speaking to the media over the weekend, the quarterback was blindsided by an unexpected jab from a local reporter. “I’m taller than him,” the media member can be seen mouthing.

Gabriel is 5-foot-11. He is the shortest passer on the Cleveland roster. It was viewed as a weakness in his NFL outlook.

“Height will make middle of the field throws a challenge… true arm strength is below average for the NFL.”

That inability to see the field was costly on that previously mentioned interception. His height will become a talking point should he struggle under center.
