Jemele Hill, a writer who previously worked from ESPN from 2006 to 2017, including working as a SportsCenter host, is returning to the network. Hill will be featured as a panelist on Around the Horn, which is set to end its two-decade-plus-long run on May 23.
In addition to Jemele Hill, Around the Horn also announced that previous panelist Kate Fagan will be returning to the show, with both women appearing on the Thursday, May 8 episode.
Fagan was a writer at ESPN in the 2010s, working for ESPN.com, espnW, and ESPN The Magazine. On television, she appeared on the programs Outside the Lines and, obviously, Around the Horn. Fagan left ESPN in 2018.
Hill was a far more controversial figure in ESPN history due to her politics clashing with some of the network’s viewers and the manner in which she shared those opinions. She has since leaned into being a political firebrand.

With Hill and Fagan returning this week, it’s likely a safe bet to expect other previous Around the Horn panelists return to the show for one final go-round in the coming weeks as the long-running debate gameshow, hosted by Tony Reali, says goodbye.
Around the Horn first premiered in 2002 and has been hosted Reali since 2004, who replaced original host Max Kellerman. The series has filmed over 4,800 episodes having aired daily on ESPN at 5 p.m. EST (on weekdays).
Idiosyncratic Colorado-based sports writer Woody Paige is the winningest player in the history of Around the Horn, having “won” the episode 687 times, which is over 100 more than second-placed Tim Cowlishaw.
