The Chicago Sky beat the Minnesota Lynx over the weekend, 87-81. The team celebrated after the fact.
Angel Reese was one player vocal on social media after the surprise win. She had Courtney Williams in her crosshairs when crafting her victory message.
Williams was heard disrespecting the Sky for their on-court performance in the 2025 WNBA season. Chicago entered the matchup at just 6-13. They currently rank fifth in the six-team Eastern Conference standings.
Minnesota, meanwhile, came in with the league’s top overall record at 18-3. Williams mocked her future opponent while flexing her team’s dominance in a video earlier this season.

“Y’all ain’t beat Chicago?” she was heard asking Dallas Wings guard DiJonai Carrington amid a 1-8 start. She seemed surprised to know that there was another WNBA team preforming more poorly than the Sky.
She’d eat her words on Saturday when the Sky handed the Lynx their fourth loss of the year.

Chicago jumped out to a quick 29-23 first quarter lead and never looked back. They never trailed in the contest, leading for 39 minutes and 12 seconds of the 40-minute affair. It was dominance in every sense of the word.

The Sky immediately posted a photo to commemorate the win with a caption referencing Williams’ previous quip. Reese then took her own victory lap.
The forward recorded her eighth straight double-double by scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 boards. Williams, meanwhile, was held to 13 points on 33% shooting.

With the win, the Sky improved to 7-13 on the season. The Lynx fell to 18-4.
