The Miami football team picked up a huge rivalry win over Florida in Week 4 to remain undefeated in the 2025 season. Offensive lineman Anez Cooper called out cornerback Cormani McClain and teammate Jamari Lyons after the fact.
Cooper insinuated that the Gators were trying to hurt him at different moments throughout the contest. The defender took the high road.
The Hurricanes beat Florida 26-7 at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday. They improved to 4-0 in their pursuit a College Football Playoff appearance.
The Gators, meanwhile, fell to 1-3. Cooper suggests frustrations began to set in amid the tough start.
Anez Cooper went after Cormani McClain.
“Cormani McClain, you a h–,” he said in an Instagram live clip. “You know where I’m at. You know where I be everyday… Ninety-five (Jamari Lyons), get up with me. Trying to hurt me and s—.”
Cooper and McClain were seen exchanging trash talk at points during the matchup. That was to be expected during an intense rivalry meeting.

What was said is unknown. Cooper wanted followers to hear his unhappiness with his counterparts after the game.
He also accused Lyons of intentionally trying to injure him at the line of scrimmage. Video supporting those allegations have not yet emerged on social media.
Cooper is no stranger to the Florida Gators. He was involved in some pregame jabbing prior to last year’s win over in The Swamp.

He continued to display his hatred for the Gators this season with an unprompted shot at Florida defensive lineman Tyreak Sapp.
The Miami – Florida rivalry is still red hot.

In the hours that have followed the Hurricanes’ most recent win, he’s made it his mission to troll his rival further online.
McClain has taken the high road.
The cornerback refused to be baited into a response by Cooper. He’s remained silent on social media, which is a bit of a surprise given his history.
Cormani McClain trashed Colorado after leaving the program. Deion Sanders cited a lack of effort in reasoning for his demotion on the depth chart. McClain bit back after hitting the portal.
He landed at Florida as a walk-on before later earning a scholarship. He’s now making an impact in the Gators’ secondary, picking off Carson Beck in the loss to the Hurricanes.

He showed maturity off the field by not engaging with Anez Cooper. He took the high road, which is another sign of growth.
McClain will hope to flush the loss and get the Gators back in the win column in Week 5. Florida hosts Texas in Week 6 after a bye.
