The MLB is reportedly considering limiting ZYN use in the dugout among players.
Back in 2016, the MLB prohibited new players from using any smokeless tobacco product during games.
Nicotine pouches such as Zyn, popular among young athletes, are currently allowed to be used in the dugout, but that could change soon.
According to a report from Front Office Sports, the MLB will have conversations with the players’ association regarding ZYN use.

“To the extent there is ambiguity regarding the status of these novel products at the Major League level, we plan to address that with the Major League Baseball Players Association this offseason,” said the source, who spoke to FOS on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the topic.
“What the league wants to avoid is players (and other team personnel) using nicotine products in places, “where it is visible to younger fans who want to emulate what their favorite players do on the field,” the source said.
While the MLB is considering a ZYN ban, the NFL has already told quarterback Baker Mayfield he shouldn’t be using the product on their sidelines.

The source also said Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield will not be disciplined for using Zyn — a smoke-free nicotine pouch — on the sideline during the game, which television cameras picked up.
The NFL prohibits the use of tobacco-related products on the field and during interviews. The source said Mayfield would receive a letter reminding him that he should not be using the product on the sideline, and he could be subject to a fine if it happens again.
