After weeks of instruction and education, popular golf influencer Paige Spiranac finally shared the last two videos in her “Beginner’s Guide to Starting Golf” series. In these videos, she covers yet another golf club, the putter, and what kind of attitude to bring to the course as a newbie.

“What’s a putter? What are the different types of putters?” Paige Spiranac writes in the description to the first video. “I’m sure you know when to use your putter, but just in case I’m going over everything you need to know as a beginner!”

“So the putter is what you’re going to be using on the putting green,” she explains in the video. “And the green is the tightest of all of the grasses that you’re going to be playing on and so that’s the easiest way to remember it. It’s the last thing you’re also going to be doing because you’re hitting it into the hole.

“So a putter has all different types of head shapes. So putting is very personalized on what people prefer with a putter. Some people like a wider grip. Some people like a smaller grip. There’s all different types of hosels. Some people like when it’s more curved like this. Some people have them bent. Again, putting is all about confidence and it’s all about what you prefer when you look down.

“So I prefer a smaller head,” she continued. “Some, you have blades and mallets. So this is a bit of a combination because it’s a little bit bigger than a blade putter.

“So a blade putter is smaller and a mallet putter is bigger. So, if you’re playing a smaller putter, it would be a blade putter. If you have a bigger putter, it would be a mallet putter.

“There’s no right or wrong when it comes to golf equipment. It’s all about what feels best to you, what you have confidence in, and the more that you play, the more you’re going to realize what you like and what you don’t like with clubs. But just starting out you don’t have to worry about that. Just find something that you can get anywhere and just start swinging.”

In Paige Spiranac’s final “Beginner’s Guide to Starting Golf” video, she former pro talks about attitude and having fun on the golf course.

“We talked about apparel. We talked about equipment. Talked about the golf course and feeling comfortable out there,” Spiranac began. “And I know I’m sure you’re still a little nervous to get out with your friends because you still feel so new to it.

“Here’s two tips: Have an amazing time. Have a great attitude and play quickly. I have played with so many golfers of all skill levels and I only remember the ones who play slowly. And don’t worry, you’re like, ‘I know I’m new and I don’t want to keep people up. Don’t. Pick up. Play fast and people aren’t even going to notice what you’re shooting. And this isn’t all for the basics we still have so much terminology, rules, and so much more to go through, but thank you for being a subscriber and just keep on watching because there’s going to be so much more coming out very soon.”

Paige Spiranac followed through on on that promise recently on her X (Twitter) account with what she called a “great simple drill that will help you hit the ball longer.”
